Broeck Oudewater

Oudewater is a picturesque town in a pretty part of the Netherlands and the hotel was an excellent base to tour it. It’s easily accessible by car, with its own parking lot in back. A grocery store is a five minute walk away and the downtown area a ten minute stroll. The hotel offers decent e-bikes for rental and we really enjoyed using them to explore the area for two days - lots of bike trails and small country roads along canals. Our room was comfortable, with a large bathroom with a good shower. We booked a family room consisting of two connecting bedrooms and were glad we did as we were able to use the second bedroom as a luggage and storage room. There is little storage in the main room, only an armoire with five hangers. No drawers or luggage racks (or floor space for luggage racks). Not a problem for a short trip but we had a big suitcase and two carryons and would have been pretty cramped without the spare bedroom. Otherwise no complaints about the room, and it was quiet at night. The hotel has a good restaurant and a pleasant courtyard that was nice for a glass of wine at the end of the day. Breakfast was a bit underwhelming for the price - it seemed the staff was struggling to keep up with replacing items. Overall would recommend the hotel and the area. Getting outside of Amsterdam gives a very different impression of the country.

Really lovely little Gem if you dont fancy Amsterdam. Lovely restuarant also downstairs, gorgeous town, good parking. Bathroom was so so no soap or shampoo in the bottles provided, design a bit basic. but okay. So happy we found this place, we will be back for sure!

We chose this hotel because of the wonderful reviews and that it has a restaurant. At check-in we’re told they had to recharge our card because even though we prepaid on the app, they said we had to re-validate the card in their system. I’ve never had that happen before when using ********** app. The room itself was very nice. The bathroom has low privacy. There’s no blinds or curtains and only half of the window is covered by glass shading. The top portion of the windows are all clear and uncovered. Unfortunately, our room was directly above the kitchen, there was banging of cupboards, pots and pan noises and talking. It sounded like the kitchen was in the room with us. We waited an hour and a half for our food. I was so tired and went up to the room. My Husband continued to wait in the restaurant and got the order to go. My husband and our kid’s burgers were raw. Unfortunately my kid being a kid ate over half of it before we knew there was a problem. My husband took a few bites and realize there was a problem. He went back downstairs with the food and they said that everything should be fine and nobody should get sick because it was real cows meat. What does that mean? We received a call and an invoice 24 hours later stating the waitress charged our card wrong for dinner and we needed to repay. I would not recommend this hotel or restaurant. Not a great experience.

On arrival we were greeted with friendliness, professionalism and helpfulness. Our rooms were beautiful with rustic charm and quaint decor. The beds were super comfy, cosy and warm. We had a drink in the charming lounge bar - lovely decor here too - really beautiful. We easily found a parking spot for the car just a short walk from the hotel. The only bug bear we had was the cold shower. Between the 4 of us in 2 separate rooms, one had a good hot shower, one had a warmish shower and two had cold showers. This is a big fail for the hotel. It should never happen.

Bedroom need privac my curtains on ground floor bedrooms so the blackout curtains can be open Staff were excellent in helping us..well done

What a wonderful surprise the Broeck was, in the middle of this bucolic village Oudewater, where we came to join in commemoration services for WWII Memorial Day / Liberation Day (and where my wife's grandfather was a leader in the Resistance). This boutique hotel is quaint, cozy, relatively new, and nicely maintained. The staff was extremely friendly, including the manager, who greeted us at the door and checked us in, taking our extended family members personally to each of the three rooms we rented. The hotel bar/ restaurant seemed to be a meeting place for locals in the evening, for drinks, etc., and had a great a**osphere. Highly recommend the beautiful, rustic village of Oudewater in general, and Broeck as a great place to stay at while you're there.

Excellent hotel, lovely staff, great food/drinks in the (busy!) restaurant. Oudewater is a small beautiful town. We chose her for a central location to get to Rotterdam, Kinderdijk, Utrecht, Gouda, Woerden and other places (all great!) - then realized how nice and historical Oudewater was itself with good restaurants and the chance to get out for country walks. We could park right at the front door each day with no restriction or fees. The hotel felt brand new. Everything was very comfortable and extremely clean, the area was peaceful and quiet but 3 minutes walk to the lovely town centre with more restaurants and bars. The service was amazing. We stayed 4 nights as our base for this part of the road trip. Have already recommended it to others. Thanks to all the staff for making it a great stay.

I was staying for two days with family and a dog. Very friendly staff, cozy little hotel a with nice restaurant. We ate in the hotel, great dinner! Do not miss trying desserts after dinner - the cakes are marvelous! The rooms are good and clean, no remarks. I was really surprised with the WiFi speed -Ookla said 94Mbps in download and 12 in upload) what is experience I did not face so far in many hotels! Parking available - no problems with car. The only (small) complaint goes to breakfast - I expected more choice, especially more vegetables available - it was served only tomatoes and cucumbers. But overall great experience, if we come again nearby we'll definitely stay here again!
