Best Western Queens Hotel

Steer clear of this dilapidated hotel, as it appears to be populated by an unsavory crowd of undesirables. It would be prudent to avoid staying here at all costs. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID!!

Booking made 7 months ago for Rewind Festival was cancelled without explanation 3 weeks. Contacted the hotel who have not bothered to reply. Had to find alternative accommodation that was almost twice the cost, however, it was the place we stayed last year so will stick with them from now on. Joke of a business.

Old and rundown hotel and needs a complete overhaul. No hot water in room and shower cold. Room was cold, however, a heater was provided thank goodness. Room on main road so noisy when cars passing and imagine in summer much worse. Feel sorry for the staff having to deal with numerous complaints. Asking for oa**ilk I now realise was way beyond what could be dealt with. On the plus side, staff were lovely, hotel, across the road from the station and breakfast was better than I expected considering the hotel.

on our way home from a trip in the north of Scotland we booked this hotel for overnight stay 29/10/21 paid £96, having booked with best western before we thought good quality hotel, how wrong could we be . Run down would be a compliment, old chipped furniture, door at the bathroom that would not close, the frame round the bath was falling apart, damp patch on the ceiling, broken overhead light and the window that opened right out if it was not one storey up you could walked straight out into the road. We sent a email of complaint and received on back ask for booking conformation and payment details which we did since then no reply, sent another email at the end of the year still no reply. will never stay at a best western or recommend one to any one. poor customer communication

The hotel is in need of refurbishment to say the least the bar area was disgusting seats broken only bottles as pumps not working and dirty glasses infact the hotel should be condemned. The only saving grace was the staff and the breakfast the staff were polite,friendly and helpful especially Annie who made breakfast service a pleasure. Disappointing that ********** have this on there web site as im sure if they sent an inspector they would not recommend this hotel I for one will not be recommending it.

All the staff that I met were very helpful. Especially as I had left my charger for mobile at home they provided me with one. As the kitchen was out of commission in evening they arranged a meal for me. I have stayed in a few hotels over europe and this was one of the better ones.

The condition was dirty bar was closed no hot water so couldnt get a shower in the morning £80 for a night a would stay there again for £20 a night

Reception was closed and told to go to the bar. Once he had finished serving a couple of people we got checked in. He was friendly and gave us the information needed. The elevator buttons were missing and you had to put your finger into an open switch which was quite worrying. Our room was clean but badly needing upgraded. Floor and bed was extremely annoying as you couldn’t breathe without something squeaking. There was a droning noise that must be an external extractor or something like that. Breakfast was ok, staff were friendly and you didn’t have to wait long on your food arriving. Overall, friendly staff in a hotel that is in need of an upgrade.

Hotel is in urgent need of inves**ent, carpets/walls/furniture very dated. Biggest issue is the quality of the beds and showers in room. The beds clearly havent been upgraded for many years and are quite simply that uncomfortable it makes sleeping very difficult. The shower systems must be 20/25 years old? The bathrooms look like they were ladt updated in the 80s. Breakfast is very limited ( no hot breakfast on day 1 with no explanation and day 2 was informed that hot offering was limited). No hairdryers, some fittings and fixtures damaged. Fair play to the staff on site, couldnt fault any one of them but its criminal that hotel even charges for rooms given the state its in. It needs to close temporarily so even some of the basic amenities can be upgraded very very poor this from Best Western
