Le Reve by Mij - Beachfront Hotel

We were a little let down by our experience at the Beachfront for a few reasons. First we are very seasoned travellers in Mexico-Cancun/Riviera Maya area, my hubby and I are in our early 60’s and were somewhat disappointed with our most recent visit. Reason being deception in resort descriptions on Sunwing website states that all rooms have balconies, this was one reason I chose this resort for the overview balcony suite as we enjoy having early morning and evening coffee on our balcony while watching the ocean. I had booked through Sunwing with an agent who verbally verified that the ocean view rooms all include balcony-upon getting there this is NOT the truth as we were told upon checking in by our ambassador that only oceanfront rooms and presidential suites have ocean view balconies-she also stated that this is an ongoing issue with both Sunwing and ******* websites which both advertise that their ocean view rooms have balconies (why has this error not been fixed then as it is false advertising) We were then offered another room which was oceanfront which costed a few more hundred dollars out of pocket so we could have a balcony-not appreciated right off arrival. Rooms and resort are very clean. Food was the second disappointment as I do not eat fish or seafood and their menus at the Beachfront were bare minimal for the non fish eater aside of Filet mignon-which is a favorite dish of mine but not here! The filet mignon was awful-same texture and taste as roasted pork-very tough to cut through and flavourless-big, big let down for us as this would normally be exceptional at every other Mexican resort. Beach is small but ok. I would not go back

After reading the fantastic reviews we were very excited about our all inclusive 5 star holiday to the Beachfront. The hotel is in a beautiful location, with lovely views of the sea. We had booked a beachfront swim up room, which was beautiful and was cleaned daily to a high standard. Breakfast was always lovely, as were some of the lunches served on the grill. We do feel, however, that a few things disappointed us about our visit. We were not aware that this property is a timeshare establishment. Several groups of people were being shown round daily, some taking photos and videos round the pool and beach area which considering it is such a small hotel, seemed to us quite intrusive. Although the sea is beautiful to look at, there is a very limited area where is is safe to bathe and that is the area adjacent to The Fives. There is a continuous stream of people walking along holding up massage signs and massage menus. The evening menu in the restaurant is very limited and repetitive. The set menu’s on the themed nights were not great quality. The restaurant got very loud on occasions due to the hard pressure end of day selling tactics which was frankly, uncomfortable to watch. Drinks from the bar seemed inconsistent, sometimes cocktails contained alcohol, other times didn’t. We enjoy sharing a bottle of wine, and asked if we could take one to our room to drink whilst listening to the sea on our patio. Apparently, having a bottle of wine is against company policy. You can have as many glasses as you want, but not a bottle, this just seems very strange. Be prepared for the sun bed rush round the pool. Most mornings when we went for breakfast a lot of beds had already been claimed, some of which weren’t used. This is a beautiful hotel, in a beautiful location but we just left feeling disappointed.

People Vaping by the pool everyday! Called Ambassador and security everyday. 1 day something was said to a couple. Nothing done or said anymore after that, they come walk around and don't say anything. DON'T advertise non smoking if not enforced!

What a lovely venue! The view from our beachfront room was spectacular. The staff couldn't do enough to make our stay perfect. A special thank you to our ambassadors Miriam, Jazmine and Melky for taking such good care of us. The property is small and intimate but with the plentiful dining and entertainment options available at their sister resort next door you get the best of both worlds.

If you are looking for a resort that has epic service, amazing location and staff this is where you want to go. Everything is a few steps away, the ambassadors take care of everything. From the ocean, beach, pool, food and drinks we had a blissful time at the Beachfront by the Fives. We will be back very soon!!!

Relax, recharge and renew at the Beachfront by the Fives. Friendly, attentive staff and always a lounger available near the pool or beach. Small beach area and rough surf but they keep it clean. More activities and dining options next door.
