Hotel ARÉNA

My husband and I chose to stay at this hotel as it was in a location close to where we needed to be during our stay. We will start with the pros: - The room was always very clean, as were all other areas of the hotels. Even on the days where we felt cleaning wasn’t necessary, we were still offered clean towels and toilet roll. - the bathroom was lovely and the shower very powerful. - Double bedroom was spacious. - mini bar was stocked in the room and although we didn’t use any of it, the price was ok (cheaper for the things in the supermarket but that’s always the case in hotels) - there was an outdoor area on floor 1 to sit out. - We had a fan provided in our room. Now for what would have made our stay better: - Air con/more than one fan. Our room was very warm especially on days the weather was over 34 degrees. We didn’t feel much respite from outside. - The bed was a solid base, which was uncomfortable, and the pillows were really strange. One big and one small per person. The big pillow felt as though it was half empty and though the smaller pillow was better, it was tiny so not much benefit. Other notes: There are lots of stairs to get up to your room. Though there was an elevator, we stayed on floor 4 and established that pressing 4 on the lift meant you still had stairs to walk up. This is not a big deal daily, but with heavy suitcases, we found it better to go up to floor 5 and walk down a few steps to floor 4 instead. This is a very basic hotel with basic amenities - you definitely get what you pay for.

There was nothing literally bad there, just the prices were higher then they would be expected (and should be) at a hotel of this cathegory. We understand that it was because of the world ice-hockey chmapionship, just stating it. Perhaps if you travel beyond the high season (or beyond IIHF championship) the prices will be more fair. But like I said: nothing literally wrong there.

Pros: The room and entire place was kept clean. The location was good as it was only a few minutes from the yellow metro line called B which takes you to the center of Prague in 20 minutes or so and close to the airport. The staff was very nice. The internet speed was ok. A shopping mall with a grocery store is nearby. Cons: The room was very small. I wish they were more knowledgeable about the neighbourhood and Prague as a whole. I asked some questions, but all I got from them was a general information I could easily find on the internet. It's nice there was a safe inside the room, but it'd have been better if we had a securer, modern lock on the door.

Esperienza assolutamente negativa per il servizio!!! Posizione ottima ma per il resto lasciamo perdere… Partiamo dal presupposto che sono sempre in viaggio per lavoro e di alberghi ne vedo.. Sto soggiornando da 5 gg presso la struttura ma posso assicurarvi che la pulizia delle camere non viene effettuata:passano,guardano se c’è la carta igienica e basta.Il letto non viene mai toccato! Gli asciugamani me li hanno cambiati dopo 4 giorni perché li ho fatti trovare a terra…la pavimentazione in moquette non viene mai passata con l’aspirapolvere e lo si vede bene(però la trovi in pianta stabile nel corridoio mai utilizzata)armadi che cadono a pezzi perché malamente montati,lampadine mancanti e chi più ne ha più ne metta…l’albergo sarebbe anche bello ma la gestione.. Mi meraviglio di aver letto tante recensioni positive.. Magari sarà il periodo ma ciò non dovrebbe accadere….
