Villa Pitiana

We had an unsettling dining experience at the restaurant last week. We were surprised when a waiter informed our group that only cash was accepted, especially after seeing another guest pay by card. This inconsistency was poorly explained, which increased our discomfort. Moreover, the same waiter indicated that our tour's driver was allowed to pay by card because he did not appear to be Chinese, suggesting discriminatory practices. A similar complaint found on Google reviews indicates that this might be a recurring problem. The two stars are awarded solely for the supportive receptionist who acknowledged our concerns, in stark contrast to the overall disappointing handling of the situation. We hope the management addresses these serious issues promptly.

We had a week long vacation in Tuscany and stayed in three different hotels. This hotel was by far the biggest (and only) disappoin**ent through the trip. How did they managed to get the 4 stars is beyond my understanding but it’s a 2 star hotel at the best. First of all some good things: location, very lovely and helpful staff, adequate breakfast. On the negative, I don’t think I have ever in my whole life stayed in a hotel so dirty and badly maintained. If you read comments 10 yrs back saying that hotel was dirty and in need of the renovation. Well, in 10 yrs it has only gotten worse. Everything in our room was either dirty, disgusting, broken or just inadequate. Walls were dirty and had holes, bathroom had probably last renovation at least 20 yrs ago. Carpet had stains and dirt all over. I didn’t even feel safe to walk on it in socks. I have stayed in old hotels so many times but never have I seen anything like that anywhere, not in Italy, not in any other country. And there wasn’t any glasses in the room either. Only plastic cups in the bathroom, in a 4* hotel. Seriously?! Our room had a view of the courtyard, so we didn’t even have any view from the window. But it didn’t really matter, since we tried to spend as little time in the hotel and room as possible. I am glad that we stayed only two nights and that our next hotel was like from another dimension compered to this one.

It's very old and that's nice but depressive too. There is a lift but only for a few rooms. And a lot of flies! The staff is friendly and helpful . The b****rvice is not what you should expected of it. The restaurant is simple but the servants think it's at least one star!

The Villa Pitiana is around 50 minutes away from Florence airport and will be perfect for a long weekend stay. The villa is very authentic from the XI century. The room that I got had a mezzanine with a 180 degree view which is so great when you wake up in the morning. Breakfast is OK (not the best that I've had in Italy and if you are vegetarian, focus on your lunch and dinner ;-)), there is no restaurant for lunch (only a snack bar available which is very basic and will not bring you to Italian's food dreams), HOWEVER, the restaurant for dinner is great. You can definitely enjoy the Italian food's experience there. I definitely recommend it for dinner. The parc and swimming pool are great for relaxing moments however the nice lavenders have their own limitations as you will enjoy the company of a lot of bees on your way to the pool and inside the water. But we should protect them nowadays so we cannot really complain about that. Very nice stay!

The outside of the villa is really beautiful with outstanding views. Swimming pool need some attention and was not that clean. Service could be better for a 4 star hotel as well. Dinner was good. The hotel has a lot of potential due the villa itself and the location but really needs an upgrade to stay on a 4 star level.

Complimenti allo chef , che nonostante il poco preavviso ci ha preparato un ottimo pasto, io avevo delle problematiche alimentari e lui ha trovato le pietanze perfette per me. a**osfera di altri tempi. ci torneremo sicuramente

Wie mein Name schon sagt, wir sind Fans der Villa Pitiana - trotz allem! Unsere Liebe begründet sich in der Lage, der A**osphäre und der Freundlichkeit des Personals. Leider werden die vielen Dinge nicht gesehen, die geradezu nach Hilfe schreien - lieber gibt man Geld für eine seltsame Party Location aus anstatt die dringend notwendige Renovierung des mittlerweile sehr in die Jahre gekommenen Pools und dessen Umgebung vorzunehmen. Die vor Jahren wirklich beeindruckenden Grünanlagen benötigen dauerhaft fachkundige Betreuung um nicht vollkommen unansehnlich zu werden. Es sind die kleinen Dinge, die Beachtung bräuchten, dann könnte die Villa Pitiana ein Juwel werden. Wir werden wiederkommen - und wenn es nur deswegen ist, um zu sehen, ob es auch mal etwas gibt, was besser wird.

La villa è bellissima, domina dall'alto della collina una vista spettacolare. Il personale è cordiale, la colazione è varia e comprende prodotti tipici e sia dolce che salato. Per il resto, la struttura (enorme) non ha ancora "deciso" cosa fare da grande. Non è una struttura "antica" nè una struttura antica con comodità moderne. I servizi sono ben lontani da un quattro stelle, i bagni non sono all'altezza, le stanze non sono pulite, gli infissi vecchi, sporchi e dipinti male. L'aria condizionata è vecchissima, rumorosa, con filtri che non si puliscono da decenni. Vi sono accrocchi spaventosi di prese di corrente, allarmi, altoparlanti, ripetitori di wi fi. Andrebbe affrontata una messa a punto totale per poter poi vendere il tutto come una struttura antica però con tutti i confort. La sola cordialità del personale non può sopperire all'approssimatezza dell'albergo.
