La Perla Blanca - Ronda

Beautifully restored cortijo set in the tranquil countryside a few miles outside Ronda. Jenny was the perfect hostess, helping us with local knowledge and eateries. The most comfortable beds on our road-trip of Andalucia and breakfast on the terrace overlooking the vineyard was perfect. Great pool patio for cooling off and honesty bar for drinks by the pool - amazing restaurant - La Cascada 2 min walk away- would highly recommend.

Greàt friendly and helpful hosts. Slept like q baby in comfy bed. Chilled by the pool. Away from the madding crowds of town but easily accesible. Get on down to the Jen and Tom show. Ohhh and the breakfast baskets rock Even a swimming hole at the bottom of the garden if u really want to get au natural

La Perla Blanca felt like a quaint little place to stay, but since leaving, I can't help but feel it has left a sour taste. Were there nice features? Yes. The breakfast was nice, the host was lovely and helpful, and the honesty bar gave the whole place a homely feel. However, we booked the suite for a hot tub and it didn't work. It was cold. We mentioned this in the morning and a quick sorry and a promise that it would be warmer if we wanted to pay to use it again was offered in apology. When my husband and I then began talking about our stay, we found other things that didn't sit right with us. We'd been trying to book on the wine tour, but communication was poor. My husband had tried to surprise me by booking the romantic package with cava and chocolates, but it wasn't in the room when we arrived. My husband had to ask for it. Surprise ruined. The suite had non potable water, but we had to pay for water we could drink. The outside area was ****y and there was clearly a wasp nest nearby as any time we tried to go outside we were swarmed. The shower went from freezing to scalding every 15 seconds. Would I leave a disgruntled review usually for these things? Unlikely. But if you book a hot tub suite and the hot tub isn't hot, rendering it unusable, it makes you question if the whole stay was worth it. As it happens, we had a lovely weekend overall - but we also spent the majority of our time away from La Perla Blanca.

Such a gem of a place!! Peaceful, quaint and just exactly what we needed. Traveling to all the tourist sites gets tiring and staying here felt like we were staying with a friend. The pool was refreshing, the hosts were down to earth good people. We walked to a restaurant just down the street and had the best meal. We only had data service on our phone so the owners made the reservation for us. Be sure and get a Barraquito coffee (picture below) with dessert if you go for dinner! Breakfast was scheduled to be delivered at 9 but we needed it earlier and they had no problem with that. The fruit and orange juice hit the spot. Croissant was my favorite, but we appreciated and enjoyed the variety given. There is a winery attached however it is operated by different people. Badman Wine is the name and it’s very good. (We had a bottle at the restaurant the night before). We told the owner of La Perla Blanca when we were checking out that we wanted to purchase a bottle, so she went into the grape fields and asked the winery owner if he would open up for us, which he did. Little touches like this of going above and beyond are what you can expect here. We were on a Spain road trip making our way from Madrid to Sevilla so we only stayed one night here, but if we were to do this itinerary again, we would stay an extra night at La Perla Blanca and just have a chill day. Almost forgot the bed was comfortable, loved the comforter.

This is a wonderful place to stay - quiet and away ‘from the madding crowds’. It’s picturesque, peaceful, relaxing, comfortable and welcoming. Only a 10 minute drive from wonderful Ronda, it has ample car parking facilities, and we loved the breakfast baskets! Thomas and Jenny are excellent hosts, and we would highly recommend it. As they’re just starting out on this new venture we’re sure that any little ‘nit-picks’ on our part will be fully resolved over time.

First visited In August 2021 . Loved it , what’s not to Love . Rooms are lovely , Scenery Beautiful . So Relaxing . Owners Julian and Jodie so helpful . My wife and I stayed at La Perla Blanca for a few nights at the end of June. We received a wonderful welcome from Julian and Jodie and instantly knew that we were going to enjoy our stay. It’s a beautiful and tranquil setting and they are perfect hosts - attentive and friendly but not overbearing. The location is great as it’s just outside Ronda, but good for access to the town and the surrounding villages and countryside. Thank you both for the perfect start to our holiday!

Wanted a place close to Rhonda for a few nights. Great stay in a comfortable room and beautiful surroundings. We arrived and were invited to share a drink at the pool with the hosts and other locals. We were able to use all of the facilities. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast in a basket was a nice touch!

Having been touring around Southern Spain staying in Cities, it was a lovely change of pace to stay at La Perla blanca near Ronda. Jodie and Julian are British and were great hosts, with fabulous recommendations of things to do in the area. The breakfasts were delicious, left outside your room to have when you want. We are not pool people but if you are there is a lovely little pool, and there are drinks and food available from the pool bar at certain times. If you want a clean and friendly relaxed base to explore this are, then this is a great place. Ronda itself is great, but it is at least a 10 minute drive and the police are very present, so taxis might be a good option.
