The house is the best of both worlds—it’s a farmhouse, but it’s modern, with all the charm of the old and the amenities of the new. Well, it’s got 2 stories, with charming outdoor porches, both front and back, but the hand-built stone fireplace soars from the first floor all the way to the top of the vaulted living room ceiling. Yet for all of the seeming seclusion, the property is exactly halfway between Woodstock and Saugerties—12 minutes or less, either east or west, gets you to wherever you need to go, whether it’s fine dining, or antique shopping, or enjoying a horse show at HITS. In the summer, both the Big Deep and Little Deep swimming holes are just a few minutes away, and in the winter, this location puts you well on your way to Hunter and Windham for skiing. There are 3 bedrooms. Upstairs are the master bedroom and the “kids” room. The master has a queen-size bed and a skylight. The other bedroom has twin beds and a crib. The upstairs bathroom is gleaming and bright—it has a skylight!—and there is a nice-sized stall shower separate from the bathtub. The 3rd bedroom is on the first floor has a queen-size bed. The bathroom on this floor is very accommodating, it has a stall shower. There is an air conditioner in each bedroom, and also a unit in the common space.
