Taunton Town House

Booked here as we were visiting family in the area. Could have early check in which was helpful and very easy entry and access. Room we booked was a superior room and was large with lots of space for luggage. Great free car parking and were allowed to leave the car there the next day.

Had meetings in the area, so wanted a quick stop over, well managed building and easy access and check in. Lovely large room and very clean with housekeepers working when arrived. Great large car park, will stay again if in Taunton next time.

Lovely stay here in March, they do just rooms only but with the location the town is just across the road so all the bars and everything is there. Very homely feel and warm and could come and go as we pleased. Lovely cosy room with comfy seats and a table to sit around.

Fantastic stay at the Taunton town house with my family. Large grand Victorian building with lots of space to park and turn which was free. Large family room with a double and 2 single beds. The town house is just rooms but very well appointed and well done.

Well positioned town house, they just do rooms only, but they are very nice with superior rooms classic or a four poster. We booked the superior room which was of great size and spotless. Great WiFi connection and everything very easy to use. Lovely stay here

Stayed here for a business event. The location is perfect with a large car park and all the places to eat minutes away. The room we had was large with enough space for comfy chairs. We were allowed to check in at anytime with code entry which worked very well.

Stayed here in March, great location right in the town centre of Taunton. We booked a standard room which was of good size, great fluffy pillows and towels. Location to everything was very good with the town just across the road. Felt very homely and warm

Great stay for my friends birthday party, we were arriving very late so was given a key access code which worked fine. Room was spacious and very clean. Great well kept Victorian building. The car park was an added bonus so we could wonder off for the day

My partner and I stayed at this hotel in March. We weren’t given a pin for entry on the day of arrival, and when calling the hotel on the way to Taunton, the main number on the site did not work. We had to go onto google to their main sight to find a mobile number - very well hidden - to which we managed to get through to eventually. When we spoke to the gentleman, he was extremely rude to us and asked for our card details to be sent via email (which we did not feel comfortable with) and then hung up on us. We were left with no choice but to send our details via email - very risky and unsafe in my opinion. When we got to the hotel, there was no staff there. Apparently this hotel is not manned by anyone and is just rooms - something not stated on the booking. In addition, the room was absolutely appalling. The windows didn’t work. The bedding was dirty. The bathroom was unclean and had human hair everywhere. The service was abysmal, the bathroom light above the mirror didn’t work, bathroom fan didn’t work, and worst of all, the shower head wasn’t fitted correctly and the shower was only giving freezing cold water. When we called the number we had from earlier, we were welcomed with the same extremely rude member of staff who claimed to be the manager. He told us it was our fault the shower was cold “because we should not be showering at 10am” and that “most normal people shower before 10”. When I asked for evidence of this in writing (I asked if this was written on the advert for the hotel, as we would not have booked it if it stated we could only shower before 9am in the morning), he proceeded to raise his voice at me, I asked for details to make a formal complaint, for him to then say “I’m not talking to you anymore” then hung up on me whilst I was trying to talk to him about resolving the shower issue. When we tried ringing him back, he kept declining our call. He was so incredibly rude to us that my partner was in tears. I’ve never experienced anything like it. This place needs shutting down. It’s appalling and I’m so shocked it’s even allowed to operate given the circumstances. This man had no customer service skills and was so vile on the phone. I can’t believe how very rude he was. We have family in Taunton and we had come down to celebrate a very special 80th birthday party and the whole weekend was sadly completely ruined by this atrocious stay. We felt unclean and un heard and both of us are extremely angered and very upset by this.
