Housekeeping needs improving. Most meals from the menu weren't available. Dining and bar staff friendly, helpful and attentive

Stayed over a bank holiday weekend, Staff were lovely did all they could to help and make sure we had a good stay, Tracey even showing us nice places to visit and getting us directions what a lovely lady. They were short on staff but despite this Keiron and Hannah worked so hard to ensure everyone got food and drinks. I will definitely be back for another visit soon. The hotel has loads of places for food and drinks nearby and also plenty of shops, A big Tesco is also nearby and 3 petrol stations within 5 mins of the hotel.

Loved it! It’s practically brand new, clean, comfortable, welcoming staff, free parking and the restaurant served up a great evening meal (big portions, well cooked). Breakfast was comprehensive, although the cooked items could have been hotter. We stayed as a stopping point for the Orkney Ferry and it’s a perfect location, being about 30 minutes away. I’d definitely say it’s good value for money and I’d stay there again.

Genuinely welcomed upon arrival and given a few suggestions of places to visit. Booked in to eat the first night as we hadn't yet found our feet in Thurso. Helpful staff guided us through the offers and menu, and service was swift and friendly. Breakfast was so good. Loved the chance to have porridge. Roisin shared a laugh and looked after us, even letting us know there were freshly baked pain au chocolate imminent. The room was just as we have come to expect of a Premier Inn, but this is a relatively new one and it showed. We would definitely return if we find ourselves this way again.

Hotel is very modern, clean, and nice. Staff were friendly, especially the woman on reception. Nothing is too much trouble. The only one thing I’d say is that no housekeeper should be entering anyone’s room before check out. Having worked as a housekeeper for Premier Inn before, I know fine well that even if you think the guest has possibly checked out early, it’s common sense and courtesy that you at least wait for an answer after knocking before entering the room. We were still in bed at 09:30 because the check out at this hotel isn’t until 12 Noon, the door was locked on the inside and when we heard a knock at the door we assumed it was for next door, before I even had a chance to move out of bed the house keeper barged in and clearly got a shock when I said excuse me. At the very least the housekeeper should have shouted “House keeping” after knocking before entering the room and swinging the door wide open.

Arrived on Friday for a couple of nights with my partner. Hotel is quite new and very clean, staff are really friendly and look like they actually enjoy their jobs and want to be there. For some reason my room key stopped working. Waiting at reception and seemed if I were waiting an eternity for a staff member to come assist me. The maintenance man appeared from behind a door at reception and asked if I needed assistance and introduced himself as Gary. I explained that my key had stopped working, he asked me a few questions which I assume are for security purposes. Gary was really happy to help me he had such a lovely refreshing attitude.

Nice new building with adjoining open air carpark, close to the railway station and easy walking distance with a wheeled suitcase. Staff friendly, welcoming and definitely multitaskers! Prepaid check-in easy, room clean and spacious. Continental breakfast/buffet of hot old faithfuls, fresh cut-up fruit, a solid start to the day. Would stay again!
