Owner canceled my booking last minute, causing quite a lot of stress. Worse, tried to pin the blame on me instead of either owning up to his mistake or offering me alternative accommodation. As he will likely reply to this and again try to blame me, I should explain that he has his *********** account set to issue a “booking confirmed” email, but then after that point, he tries to debit the card on file for the full rate - even though it clearly says “pay at property.” I made the booking around 11:00, then went on a hike and long drive where I did not check emails. So it was a complete surprise to arrive - late in the evening, to be told the owner has canceled it and then to be told it’s me at fault. This was during a busy period and I was forced to book a much more experience place nearby. I attempted to reach out to the owner the following day with hopes he could at least offer an apology, but he again claims it’s all me at fault here. Place honestly didn’t look that great anyway, so best to avoid in any case…
