VOI Wildlife Lodge

We stayed for 5 nights for Conference / Professional Training with colleagues in June 2024. The stay was absolutely amazing, courteous staff, very friendly, clean rooms, and conference we had dedicated staff to take care of any need arising. The wildlife surrounding the lodge was incredible, waterbucks, hippo, elephants at one time there were 26 of them, at the watering hole. All staff stood out, the Head Chef friendly guy, the GM, the F&B Mr. Patrick good work, Ms. Stellah and the Front Office Team, keep up the good work, Rahma, David, Miriam, the list long. All staff we interacted with are friendly and attentive, very chatty and friendly, and we were always greeted with a smile and a wave which was so lovely. Food was good, rooms and beds comfortable, clean and tidy. Thank you to everyone at Voi Wildlife Lodge and to everyone for being so friendly, professional and kind. Whilst the lodge is ok,the staff are lovely and food was ok BUT all the rooms were infested with cockroaches including outside. We had to stuff sheets near the doors and around the toilet to stop them getting in. We have stayed at Voi before and had no issues but based on yesterdays experience I would not recommend staying there.

If there was an option to give this a 0-star rating, I would. How this property receives 4 stars is beyond me. I honestly feel that owners/staff buy reviews. I legit had to recover from the trauma I experienced staying at this lodge. I honestly would have opted to stay in our safari vehicle instead. The only thing that this property has going for it is the water hole. Though we didn't see any big game, it was nice to lookout at the birds. Now, everything else. The staff, the saving grace was Moses... So kind and sweet and really nice. The food was subpar, with the buffet being shared with the insects. The room, this was the biggest turn off of them all. I couldn't decipher if I was in a room or outside with the amount of bugs. There were more bugs within the mosquito net where we were to sleep than outside. I had a complete panic attack while my partner took over an hour killing the bugs. Try sleeping after that... Then came the bathroom, leaking water from God knows where. Realized that there was no phone in the room, so twice we had to walk to reception to complain and twice, nothing happened. When I showered, the water pressure was non-existent, more water went on the floor then on my body. They never advertised for a personal pool en-suite. Upon checkout, it was horrific. Literally got into a back and forth match with the lady that presented herself as the CFO. We told her about our experience and even showed her videos of our room. She and all the staff just stood there with no emotion. I asked her one question, based off the videos and our complaints, would She stay there. She refused to answer, which is also an answer itself. The saving grace for us was our safari tour operator provided a full refund for our stay here, and VOI Wildlife Lodge is nothing but a bad memory. I would avoid this property at all costs.

I was in one star hotel in Australia and rooms where horrible here. I am not talking about location, staff or food. That was okay for three stars hotel. We killed 25 grasshoppers in our room. The bathroom was terrible. Nets had holes. We didnt sleep because we were afraid of grasshoppers. Nothing for woman.

Beautiful place to stay, great views from the deck, the pool was nice. The service was good, food was mediocre at best. Beds were comfortable and the shower was decent. We enjoyed our night there and didnt have any issues. Not a bad place to stay overall.

We stayed as a family group in septmeber of 2023. The stay was absolutely amazing and the facilities and food were lovely. The wildlife surrounding the lodge was incredible, with lots of animals visiting the watering hole, including a hippo that took up residence. The thing that stood out to me the most was the staff. They were all so friendly and attentive, and their attention to detail really stood out. Everyone was very chatty and friendly, and we were always greeted with a smile and a wave which was so lovely. The food was lovely and the local dishes were tasty. The drinks were very reasonably priced and tasty. There is a shop on site which had souvenirs and other little bits which was very well priced. The rooms and beds were comfortable and were very clean and tidy. Thank you to everyone at Voi Wildlife Lodge and thank you to everyone for being so friendly, professional and kind. It really made our safari experience amazing!

The best place to stay with or without family. I travelled with my children and was worried about the rooms we would get. Beatrice ensured that we got the best room and she followed up to ensure we were having a great time. The meals were superb ,the young baby had his food prepared , the rooms are amazing and the services out of this world. The facility is super spacious and has 4 swimming pools. The staff are highly motivated and you are treated like royalty. Highly recommend when visiting Voi. Big thumbs up to Beatrice , Sheila and chef Nicholas.

We stayed on full board basis in the family rooms. It was the rainy season so we did not see many animals at the pool but two families of elephants graced us with an appearance on our last night. I really enjoyed watching the sun rise on the sunny mornings. Good: The staff was welcoming and helpful, the rooms are quite spacious. They were clean and cleaned daily. Our request to have one of our meals at Man Eaters was approved which was great. The kids activities and evening entertainment were engaging. Okay: The food was okay, the variety was wanting on the first evening, especially the meats. The set up was a bit confusing with foods repeated in different heating plates. It would be lovely if the set up were a bit more predictable. The swimming pools were clean - it was not clear if we were to use the towels from the rooms at the pools. Bad: The ceiling fans did their best but the heat was too much for them. Consider air conditioning instead. The lunchboxes (for a lunch out in the park)can definitely be better. How about having safes in the rooms? Overall, we had a good time and will definitely be returning.

The people who serve, the place, the proximity with Tsavo Est National Park are great!! But…. The way the place is managed and the way the information is given, makes it a hard stay! You stay 2 nights, giving them time in & time out, they charge you when you arrive.. but half of it, but they don’t tell you. I was charged at departure, of all the Game drives, when the 2 other places I had stayed, it was included… if you don’t go get crack information, why this or that is missing, … you have no possibility to know. If you don’t ask for the menu … you won’t have it… and so forth… I suppose it part of the local culture… or the people are not trained… maybe.
