Waiwo Dive Resort Raja Ampat

首先位置很好，有一大片酒店專屬海灘，離着輪渡碼頭不遠。服務方面，首先很熱情，但是除了經理和前台，會説英語的人不多，有時會發生誤會。 房間很大，但是設施一般，與房價很不相符。洗澡水的熱水器就是一個小廚寶，剛剛洗一會兒，就變涼水了，第二個人就衹能洗涼水澡，否則要等很長時間。而且洗澡水一部分從花灑出來，一部分從下面龍頭出來，轉換器已經壞了，洗手盆的水龍頭安裝也有問題，開一點點小水流，都會迸濺的到處都是。 餐廳飯菜還可以，衹是我們是含早餐的房間，參加了度假村的觀鳥行程，也通知度假村給留早餐了，回來以後，就是別人吃剩下的了。三天的早餐，沒有標準化，每天的量都各不相同。而且可樂啤酒都很貴，比我們船宿還貴，不合理。 度假村價格貴可以接受，但是希望物有所值，設備運行完好

Raja Ampat is not a destination for a luxurious resort holiday - you go to the expense and effort for diving in and around the Dampier straights. Some key considerations for choosing this resort 1. the two large dive boats they have appear to be the best/fastest dive boats in the area - so travel in comfort/space, and save time, especially on longer trips and when the seas get rough (which they did). 2. They offer Nitrox - the other place we looked at didn't offer this which is important for a week diving every day. 3. You get access to all the amazing dive sites in the area (Cape Kri, Blue Magic etc) and get to/from the further away ones quicker thanks to the fast boats, without being on a liveaboard....which suits some parties e.g. with a non-diver. From that perspective the resort/experience gets 2 stars - the house reef was mostly too murky to snorkel due to rain and wind....maybe a lot better in dry season. The visibility was poor at quite a few dive sites as well - making those dives average and the snorkelling v.poor. Some of the sites with shallow reefs, so in theory good for snorkelling were effected by rough seas/strong currents - not ideal even for an experienced snorkeller. Sawandarek was the only really good snorkelling in a whole week (was a great dive as well). There was very little else to do at the resort other than diving - the Piaynemo day trip was good, although snorkelling poor, the Mata day trip was poor - no Mantas and a very dull site for diving and snorkelling otherwise. Two land based trip are available - blue river, which was brown river all week due to heavy rain, and a bird of paradise trip which was supposed to be great if you are happy to get up in the middle of the night. Accomdation is ok - not luxurious but comfortable enough. A lovely view out across the beach and ocean. The main issue we had was being in beachfront villas, when the tide came in at night it was extremely noisy with the waves crashing in front of the villa, sometimes with wind and rain as well, making it very hard to sleep even with earplugs and a spare pillow over head. Food - breakfast buffet was limited in choice - fresh fruit was amazing. Adding some nice cerial (e.g. muesli/Granola), yogurt, fresh pastries would have helped. Lunch and dinner was a bit variable - on the last day of our weeks stay, both meals were amazing - all guests 100% happy, up to that point some dishes were hit and miss - flavours were always good, but red meat dishes tended to be mostly bones or fat/grissle and very little meat. Mixing up the starters a bit would be good too - soup twice a day is a bit odd. Drinks choice was limited and prices were a little expensive by Indonesian standards e.g. local beer over 2x cost in Bali. The resort did seem to be listening to guest feedback. Having a bbq would have been nice to mix things up a bit....apparently only happens when more guests are there. Service - all the local staff were great - resort and diving. Diving - Sonly

Great experience. We went for a diving trip and we were not disappointed. All the staff, both from the resort and the dive center, were very attentive and professional. The dive spots in the area are very good and other iconic spots are not far (1 hour boat trip). The food (particularly the Indonesian local cuisine) was great and plentiful (we booked the fullboard option). The room was big, comfortable, clean and with great views. Overall, a fantastic experience. Looking forward to repeat soon.

I trust the review about this hotel..but when i stayed..the hotel full with government official ..wife of the minister tito. So what happened? I can only eat dinner and breakfast at the room. Thats fine..but the food they serve me is staff food. Only chicken and tempe..while on the buffet the official and her team eat all nice seafood..thats settle for dinner. Even coffee time..they dont serve anything..but the vip guests bring their own snacks. Thats not the end.. As i went trekking early am and back quiet late..i just found out that they serve my wife only leftover noodles and bread. The waiter didnt even notice our breakfast hasnt been delivered. The kitchen just said all gone already. If not for our tourguide argue and request..not even noodle gonna be serve.. So i had late breakfast adn ask them to cook the noodle which i brought..instead of giving extra service for that mistreatment..they even charge 20.000 rupiah for the eggs.. unbeliveable..management policy. This is a great hotel..but honestly..i wont be back..i dont aceept this kind of treatment. Even if vipguests came..their treatment really unacceptable. Strangely as my tour guide reserved and then cancel one night..they still charged her 2 nights stay. Management policy... If u come without vip maybe u wont being annoy by this mistreatment..but if paid 2 nights for one night stay and only eat chicken money and noodle for breakfsat....no matter how good is the room adn the view..this is the ****test hotel management ever. I will never stay here anymore.

We booked one week at the Dive into Raja Ampat Resort and were brought tho this Waiwo place and hoped they made a mistake. The Rooms are ok and spacious but the bathroom was dirty and in the shower were black hair coming out when showering. The food int restaurant is always cold and bad. We had pieces of plastic in our chocolate mousse. The owner family was on spot while our stay and staff was more concerned to bring them food than look to us. One evening we waited over an hour for our food while the family was getting a long special dinner with a variety of dishes. We guests felt that we rather disturbed the owner family than were welcome. Except for the son, he is trying his best. At the moment they are building new houses and they woke us at 7.30 with a chainsaw on our first morning totally jetlagged from a 40hrs travel. For „relaxing“ they have four hard wooden sunbed without cushions. They are never taken because you can not stay too long on these hard beds. Best is the diving center with sonly and his team offering all good dive sites wit good guides and service. And of course the location and its flora and fauna. I just hope they take care of that and its not all vanished for tourism in 5-10 yrs.

My husband and I visited the Waiwo dive resort in March 2024. We stayed in one of the ocean front bungalows. The room was large, nicely furnished with cathedral ceilings, air conditioning, ample closet and storage space. Comfortable bed, good pillows. The bathroom was also very spacious featuring a large separate shower, with hot water and excellent water pressure. In addition, the sink area features plenty of counterspace. The bungalow has a large porch. During high tide the sea literally comes to your doorstep, which is purely delightful. You will hear ocean sounds even at night. Very nice. You also have exotic birds, and jungle animals around you. Couscous bears in the trees. On the porch there is a natural wood, self-adjusting awesome rocking chair...I would return to this resort just to sit in that rocking chair and watch the sunset one more time. An incredible treat! OK. The food. I am not a foodie, I go to resorts for the environment, nature and for diving. This resort has all that. In my opinion, the food was tasty, with various offerings, cook to order breakfast, buffet style lunch, dinner, very nicely and cleanly presented. Ample portions, good variety of beef, fish, seafood, rice, pasta, potatoes. and tasty soups twice a day. The whole dining area is very clean and there is plenty of elbow room on the tables. A nice to have. There is also a small bar, they will make basic cocktails, provide ice, and serve beer and wine. There are water dispensers throughout the resort and in the rooms. Very convenient. The diving. One word. Superb! Sun-li and his team run a fantastic and safe operation, with large, fast, very convenient, well set up boats, and provide valet diving, simply outstanding service!! All you need to do is show up and clean your mask before a dive, they will do everything else for you. There is also a large camera room which is nice if you are a photographer. Couple additional notes. Please NOTE: there is no pool. Please NOTE: there are mosquitoes. This is a jungle setting. All things considered, we highly recommend this resort, and hope to return soon. A very nice place to stay for your diving holiday. The diving was fantastic. An abundance of coral and fish. Beautiful colours. And no garbage at the dive sites! The dive crew was excellent. Only 2 or 3 divers per guide (I even got my own guide) and they helped with everything, both the guides and the boat crew. The resort was nice and the food was varied and mostly tasty. Everyone was very friendly and serviceminded. Cleaning very good. The only downside was economic. The alcolholic beverages were overpriced. More expensive than in my homecountry Sweden. The rental equipment and other extras were also to expensive. We wanted to dive with Nitrox but it was not worth the price. USD 8 per dive. There were also som issues regarding payment our last day where some of us was charged too much. But it was solved eventually. Apart from that I would rekommend the resort and the dive center.

Our 3 day stay was last minute due to a catastrophic fire on our original Liveaboard. We were pleasantly surprised with the resort and dive center. Definitely pay for the VIP airport pick up/ferry boat drop off. Both were busy & chaotic, but the crew had it down to a science - well worth it! The resort was rustic, carved out of the jungle on a small beach. The sounds of the birds and waves from our beach front cottage were amazing. The newer cottages to the right side of the dining pavilion are much nicer. (I’d avoid the garden view cottages.) Food was good (mostly local) plentiful with the soups being my favorite. The dive center had lockers and photo equipment room w/cubbies but we never touched our gear once we set it out. The dive boat was fast, had plenty of room and there was a guide for every 2 people. It’ll be very nice when they finish their dock. I know homestays are less expensive, but I’ve got to have a in-room toilet & hot shower. This was a great value.

Raja Ampat is a true paradise for diving but I do not recommand this divecenter. The manager does not care about safety. I checked the oxigen tank at the 2 boats. The first thank was empty and on the second boat there was a valve missing. With spring tide they did a current check but the captain dropped us on the wrong spot.. strong downcurrent and inexperienced diveguides. They were very lucky that there were no beginners on the boat. They also offered a packagedeal for additional dives in the beginning of my trip, but before my check-out increased the price and told me the package was no longer available. The only gesture was that I didn't had to pay for the short dive with down current. The staff at divecenter and resort was very friendly and helpfull and had a nice stay at the resort.
