Quinta da Timpeira ★★★

📍 Lugar da Timpeira 2, Алмакаве

"Pure comfort and peace. Excellent location overlooking the Serra das Meadas, ideal for those who want to visit the Douro. Ideal for families. It is worth appreciating the excellent wines produced on the farm. Family room, with separate room for children. Well maintained pool. Freedom to discover the farm and the surrounding area."

Muralha Charm House ★★★★

📍 R. de Almacave 84 A, Алмакаве

"We made a 7-days walk along the Douro and had one night in this beautiful and really charming house. Ricardo made a wonderful dinner for the evening. He surpised us, besides the dinner, with champagne and red velvet cake. It was our birthday and he really wanted to spoil us. So, it was great to be there. The house is a beautiful old building, nicely restored and decorated. The room was comfortable, and also the bed. Lamego is a beautiful place to visit as well."

Douro Castelo Signature Hotel & Spa

Douro Castelo Signature Hotel & Spa ★★★★

📍 R. do Castelo 3-17, Алмакаве

"A good 4-star hotel but with a big problem…without its own parking and without nearby parks, you had to wake up early to put coins in the parking meter. Small outdoor pool but it is there. The indoor pool is good and the sauna too. 5-star cleaning, just like the staff. Full breakfast although not buffet. The bedroom and bathroom are spacious. The price of bringing a pet is €22, which I thought was expensive since not even a nest is needed…"

Lamego Hotel & Life ★★★★
"Приветливый персонал, рассказал об удобствах отеля, угостил приветственным напитком. Просторный номер с минимумом вещей. Нужно приготовить собственную бумажную салфетку."

Quinta da Timpeira ★★★
"the environment is beautiful, the room small but comfortable, the breakfast perfect (quantity, variety, quality) The only negative detail is that they only give a hairdryer on request and when you realize that it is missing, the staff is not necessarily available to give it to you"

Muralha Charm House ★★★★
"Lamego is a charming town surrounded by history, monuments and sublime cuisine. A breakfast routine with Zilda involves selecting the days events, and we found her predictions to be spot on. Plus practical advice about itineraries with hints on where to park a car for free! And while talking about breakfast, Zilda prepares a feast full of variety and tasty temptations. But her homemade orange marmalade is sensational. An ancient architectural gem has been beautifully remodelled to contemporary standards and style, this wonderful place is centrally located and easy to access by road and foot."

Douro Castelo Signature Hotel & Spa ★★★★
"I've posted elsewhere that we stayed at wonderful hotels in Portugal. The "stories" were about reaching them and trying to park at them. The Douro Castelo experience was our worst! We used GPS to find the hotel. Made the mistake of making the last turn! The hotel was only feet from the last intersection. [A red "carpet" reached from the door to the intersection, but we missed it.] We drove past the entrance on a gradually narrowing street. Narrowing more! Pulled in mirrors. Scraped the car on a house [with only inches of clearance on the driver's side.] Ultimately both cars returned to the lower center of Lamego and parked in lots. We transferred to the hotel by Uber. We enjoyed our stay--once we got there. But arriving was a trama--and an expensive one at that."
