Pestana Blue Alvor Beach - All Inclusive Hotel

We stayed at this hotel for a week from 9th May 2024. Hotel is clean and refurbished to a good standard. The animation team worked very hard to keep guests occupied. Morning walks with animation team were adventurous. Good service overall. Thank you

The hotel has only just reopened at the start of May following refurbishment, and we stayed for a 10 day period from 2-12 May. We had a great time. Our room was on the 14th floor and had a fabulous view over Alvor and the beach. All of the staff were excellent and the company have done a great job in training their team. Particularly impressed with the way the entertainment team found out the names of all of the guests and spoke to them daily. The restaurant was well laid out with plenty of food of all kinds. Bars were well stocked and the bar staff ensured drinks were quickly served. I have always thought that ethos of a hotel can sometimes be shown by how effectively they deal with problems. Well, my sister in law and her husband were initially located in the room next to ours. On the late afternoon of our first day they discovered a problem with a water leak in the bathroom. We flagged this up to reception and within a short period of time the team found them another room on the 12th floor . To compensate them for having to move, the room was much larger and with a substantial balcony. A great service. In addition to the large circular pool, there is an infinity pool in a quieter area of the hotel reserved for adults. You don’t have to fear about not getting a sun bed, there seems to be sufficient for every guest. Additionally you can get a fresh beach towel daily if required. One plus point is that the beach is less than 300 mtrs from the hotel. If you prefer bars and restaurants in Alvor then they are around a 20 min walk.

I have just returned from 4 nights. The hotel was in a fab location,5 minute walk to the beach. 10/15 minutes walk in to Alvor. Hotel was extremely clean. Rooms were fab. Room 909 fab views. Balcony large with sofa and chair. Bed and pillows both comfy. Food was good. Lots of different choices. Italian restaurant pixxas were great. Drinks plenty to choose with branded drinks. Staff all friendly and helpful. Entertainment staff worked really hard trying to get people involved. Would return.

Just had a weeks holiday at the Pestana Blue Alvor Beach and it was so nearly perfect. The hotel has undergone a refurbishment and almost everything and everyone was lovely. However the lack of staff in the restaurant let it down, food was very limited and only warm at best, with no warm plates. The restaurant was not well managed with staff were not directed. Tables were not cleared, meaning that we often could not have the table we wanted, wait for them to be cleared or on a few occasions clear, clean and reset our own! There were 4 drinks stations (coffee, tea, soft drinks etc) in the restaurant but rarely were all 4 sets of machines working with never enough cups or glasses and thus people were walking about looking for them, similarly there was a lack of cutlery, never saw a teaspoon and condiments. As the week went on things were improving (we ate out a few times but would have anyway). It was quiet when we were there and we paid a reasonable price, so much improvement needed for future large amounts of guests who those whohad paid, and will pay in the summer, a lot more than we did. We had such a lovely time and feel bad leaving this review but the restaurant experience spoilt what could have been so nearly perfect.

Rate 5 for the Hotel Room which was outstandingly maintained very clean and comfortable. First hotel where I have actually walked into a room and thought wow. Extremely happy. The 3 star overall mark was unfortunately due to unhelpful and often rude staff. The first hotel I have been to where we have not had friendly staff. Actually only one friendly staff member Nilton from the restaurant that took effort to smile and greet and make conversation. The bar the cocktail maker slim guy with glasses excellent The restaurant food quality was poor same food every day. The buffet restaurant was poor Shame the standards were not the same as the rooms.

Fabulous staff hotel position we’re here at min pestana are always excellent we stayed 19 years ago before they updated it but food was not good unfortunately this has not improved it’s cold and limited but staff and hotel make up for it 😍 food does need improvement I m afraid though

Amazing hotel!!! the family were very well catered for with multiple pools and a children's club plus a children's outdoor playground meant they were kept entertained throughout the day and evenings The food was lovely offering breakfast, brunch (big plus as you don't need to rush for breakfast), lunch and dinner plus snacks were also available throughout the day so nobody went hungry and the children got to enjoy lots of food and Ice Cream and my children can be fussy, but all loved the food In the evenings there's an additional two a la cart restaurants which we were able to eat in once per week, and we were able to book so we knew in advance and our table was waiting for us when we arrived. The meal venues and choices never got boring and we have some lovely family meals The rooms were all newly refurbished fresh and clean, and the balcony furniture was quality so we were able to sit outside and relax enjoying the amazing views We don't normally go back to the same place however I've already booked to return with TUI and the kids haven't stopped talking about it We also went with my parents and they would take themselves off to the relax pool for the afternoon and said it was very relaxing and great that they were able to enjoy the holiday without having to be around the main pool all day

This is a very good value for money hotel. The welcome was very pleasant and the room, although a little dated, was comfortable and functional. The food was reasonable and the service very good. All in all a great base to play golf from with a good pool and nice bars, a very family oriented place.
