Stables Ashbourne ★★★★

The Dog & Partridge Country Inn ★★★

"Breakfast is not really included as such. Only the continental buffet. This is cereal, fruits, cereal bars, baked items and a large selection of cakes, including mince pies, which was odd for breakfast. The hot breakfast requires a surcharge to be paid, something I’ve never experienced before. The full English would be best described as part English breakfast, with no sausages, tomatoes, or mushrooms included which is a bit of an insult when you’re paying a surcharge. I can’t fault the service, or anything else, but this felt a bit naughty to be doing."

The Okeover Arms ★★★★

"Absolutely love this pub! Such a beautiful location and lovely traditional feel, but not old fashioned. Good selection of ales, including Plum Porter which is a particular fave. The game pie was to die for, fabulous chips. But the best part was the ambience and customer service. You really need to bottle this and share with other establishments as it's so rare right now. The team are a real credit to you - friendly, fun and professional. Can't wait for my overnight stay later this month."

The Royal Oak ★★★

"Lunch at the Royal Oak was great. Generous portions and reasonably priced good quality pub food. The extensive menu gave more than enough choice. Drinks choices were good too. Staff were very attentive and friendly and the hotel was very characterful. Definitely recommended."
