The hotel itself was fine, but the continental breakfast was woeful, and it often ran out of items such as croissants. I also took exception to the letter waiting for us in our room on arrival stating that a 7.5% discretionary service charge (not advertised when we booked the stay) would be added to our bill. I have no problem tipping good service, but I hate this 'Resort Fee' approach that Mallory Court have imported from the States (where it is equally unpopular). The other problem that we had was that all the pillows were very thin and gave no neck & head support. At better hotels, we usually find that a variety of pillow firmness is available - a first world problem I know, but the bed was very soft so we both left with achy necks after 2 nights.
