Villa Moorings

We travelled as a family of four, myself my husband and two daughters aged 6 and 3. We had a delightful welcome. The staff were very accommodating and kind. They helped with many queries before and during our stay. The hotel has retained many old features which is lovely to see, there is AC in the rooms, the water is always lovely and hot. The beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. The breakfast was pleasant and eggs are cooked to order. We thoroughly enjoyed the choice of music played at breakfast. The bedrooms were very spacious, we stayed on the top floor attic and my daughters had their own room which was beautiful too. If you would like a view from the windows I'd suggest a mid floor. The pool was nice and cool and there are always loungers available. The old town was easily walkable but there are many steep inclines for those who are less able. My two girls managed the walk fine. There are plenty of restaurants within the town to choose from, these were average. The town is quiet even in peak season so if you're looking for a quiet sleepy medieval italian town for pleasant walks this would be the right place. Villa moorings hotel is highly recommended for your stay.

A delightful old villa in the quiet town of Barga. The building is a step back in time but with the added benefit of air conditioning. The staff also offer the most friendly personal service. They genuinely care that you feel comfortable and will help you in any way. Breakfast is beautifully presented and they cater for dietary needs. I have to mention the music playlist at breakfast. If you like classic rock/pop/jazz then you’ll love the a**osphere here.

We stayed here for a week and were given a warm welcome by Beatrice, Nadia and all the staff. The hotel is perfectly situated to explore Barga and the surrounding Serchio valley. The hotel only has 12 rooms and feels very intimate, more like staying with friends rather than in a hotel. The rooms are charming, ours had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool and surrounding tranquil countryside. The breakfasts were more than adequate, and pool very welcome after a hot day exploring the local countryside. Beatrice, Nadia and team were delightful and went out their way to ensure we had everything we needed, including ordering taxis for us to to get to and from the train station. I would highly recommend Villa Moorings and hope to stay with them again.

We had a lovely time staying in Beatrice's hotel situated in Barga. Very impressive building with nice rooms and balcony overlooking the Serchio Valley. Great place to be based for exploring Northern Tuscany. The surrounding hill towns are beautiful and very quiet. The Scottish connection with Barga is fascinating. Special thanks to Beatrice and Nadia and all other staff for making us feel so welcome!

What can I say, if you want Premier Inn rooms dont come here. This is the real deal. Built in 1927 as a family home (the pool wasnt there then) it is wonderful. It is so unique to stay in a small hotel like this. Beatrice and Anna Rosa were wonderful hosts. We stayed in the mothers room and had a beautiful view of the countryside. Situation was terrific to explore Barga. Lots of walks up the narrow lanes to the Duomo. Very Scottish connection in Barga. Lots of nice restaurants and bars to visit. The pool area was an unexpected surprise (cold) but very nice. The view from the belveder was amazing (360 degree). Please stay here if you are in the area.

We loved this hotel! Our room was large and comfortable! This hotel is a beautiful villa with a tower balcony that you can get some amazing shots of Barga. The staff was very friendly and accommodating , the breakfast was excellent!

sehr nettes Hotel in einer Art "Schloss" untergebracht. Sehr große Zimmer mit großem Balkon. Gutes Bad mit guter Dusche. Zum Zentrum ca. 15 min zu Fuß. Privater Parkplatz. Nettes Service. Gutes Frühstück

Avremmo dovuto starci per 4 notti con mia moglie, ma alcuni imprevisti ci hanno costretto a lasciare la suite Giuditta dopo solo due giorni. L'hotel è bellissimo all'esterno, con piscina e con parcheggio riservato: all'interno lo definirei storico, con ampi spazi, ma con la mancanza di alcune amenità (poche prese elettriche, ad esempio). Si sta, comunque, benissimo: la colazione è molto buona ed il personale è gentilissimo. Ci hanno fatto trovare una bottiglia di spumante in camera e a colazione ci hanno sempre chiesto i nostri desideri con il sorriso. Ringrazio per tutto e anche per la disponibilità a riospitarci in futuro.
