Location is excellent but facilities are a bit old.

Very well located, just 5 mind away from the central station. The amenities is very limited but we can borrow it from reception.

They keep my luggage’s until we finish from our city tour the room was clean and tidy and the staff was friendly

I’m travelling with family of 8ppls and staying in this hotel for 2nights. Out of 4rooms, all 3 rooms with issue like smelly room (like dead body inside the room), only one lightbulb is working, door knob got issue, stuffy room.. too many issue that we don’t know where shud we start to complaint. Old hotel and need a lot improvement. Check in staff is friendly. Breakfast consider average. No photo because nothing to shot out with.

Excellent hotel close to everything in Basel and great transport connections. Staff are lovely and very welcoming, rooms having everything you need and are clean and well kept. Breakfast is continental and well stocked and there is a little bar if you want to grab a quick drink in the evening. This is fast becoming my "go to" hotel when travelling on business...... keep up the great work!

A five night stay at Basel covering Chris**as using this hotel as a central point for a few trips to locations such as Waldshut, Interlaken and the Rigi.

I booked early check in for my friend,everything was well organised. Room was on the first floor far from lift,which I really appreciated;quiet. The hotel is well situated just few minutes walking from Basel Hauptbahnof. Hotel provide a ticket for free public transport upon arrival in paper. All good.

Very nice Ibis hotel superbly located nearby the train station, walking distance to tramways and buses. Small hotel with ibis rooms standards well maintained and clean. Small bar at lobby level. Friendly and welcoming TEAM. At the hotel they give you a card enabling you to take all public transportation within Basel and to Airport.

Very welcoming and polite receptionists. room was clean, a little small but everything you need in it. food at breakfast was plenty and we had a nice local beer at the bar. Basel was interesting and great for sightseeing .

My wife and I have just stayed here for 2 nights. Fantastic location located over a bridge behind the railway station, so only a short walk to the city centre and the immediate area is actually very quiet. There's a huge Coop a few minutes walk away if you fancy buying your own breakfast to take back to your room, as I did this morning. The reception staff were lovely and welcoming and very informative when I asked them questions about the city and the validity of the Basel card. Our room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. This Ibis was immensely pleasant compared to other hotels belonging to this chain that I have stayed in in the last few years (Lausanne, Munich, Prague). I doubt we will return to Basel anytime soon but if we were to, we would definitely stay here again. Thank you for our very comfortable stay :-)

Great location just a few minutes walk from the railway station and airport bus stop. Good size room. Decent bathroom with a good shower. Large TV with lots of English channels including BBC and ITV!! Breakfast was ample with selection of cereals, ham, cheese, fresh fruit, yoghurts. Hot options of scrambled eggs, sausage, beans and cook your own soft/ hard boiled eggs. Several different breads and pastries, tea, coffee and fruit juices. In all made for a good start to the day. Room 525 has a strange smell in the bathroom which we reported. Also as this was our first visit to Switzerland we didn’t realise they have their own plug sockets not used elsewhere. Only one power point in the room with a power cube. All ok if you have a Swiss power adapter but they do have them to borrow from reception. Power cube has USB a/b sockets but not USB c. Overall a good stay.

The hotel is perfectly located for the main train station, I would say the walk is less about 5 minutes, 10 minutes at maximum. It also has great bus and tram connections to the city center close by. We were greeted warmly and offered early check in for a fee (about £28) which after travelling with a heavy case we choose to do. Our room was well heated and the temperature comfortable coming in from the cold. The bed was large as was the room. Everything was very clean. The pillows are very soft which may not be to everyone's preference. There were spare pillows and what appeared to be a spare duvet available. The room had a desk a chair and a small seated area. As far as I could tell the only plugs were the Swiss style but they did have USB chargers attached to these. The only minor issue we had was that the shower seemed to leak a little. The reception staff were brilliant, they explained the use of the Basel card to us and showed us the best way to get to where we wanted. We also chose to eat at the hotel, they offer pizzas which are heated in a counter top oven. The lady working explained that these would take about 12 minutes each. Whilst we were waiting they became rather busy checking people in so we had to wait a bit longer which we were happy to do. The staff seemed to really appreciate this. Everyone we spoke with was friendly and helpful.
