Hotel Castle Bijaipur

We had previously stayed at this hotel a few years ago and it was wonderful place to return to . We were not disappointed and neither were our friends who were there for the first time. We stayed for 2 nights and wished it was 3! The staff were very accommodating, even offering us an evening drive in the countryside and sunset tea by a lake. Evening drinks and nibbles by the fire in the courtyard was lovey and the food was great too. Even though it was winter we enjoyed a swim in the pool. For our final breakfast the staff offered us s table by the pool (instead of the restaurant) which was a lovely experience.

The castle is located in rural Rajasthan, a convenient to Chittorgarh Fort. It has beautiful grounds, a wonderful marble swîmming pool. The castle itself is full of character and original features and gives a unique opportunity to stay in the home of the regional Maharaja. Wonderful staff, ***y of whom have worked for the Castle for ***y years. Bhru deserves special mention here. Excellent food, a**ospheric pre dinner drinks, occasionally with the Maharajah and his family present. The jeep safari, organised by the excellent hotel ***ager, was very interesting and an opportunity to learn about the local farming and village life. The Castle’s magnificent Mewar horses provide memorable horse safaris.

Stay like a king in old fortress adapted in modern style that you can feel all the comfort in old walling. Relaxing in quiet surrounding, hosted in best way. You can even take a horseride or use the spa. After long car ride the perfect way to relax luxurious.

Stayed here for 1 night as part of an Intrepid tour, what a great choice by Intrepid absolutely loved our stay. Great rooms which were super comfy lovely cool air conditioner and great showers and beds. Lovely pool which was very welcome after a hot day. We had the buffet meal at night which was fabulous. Don't bother with the massage, my husband decided to book one and ended up with what could only be described as the local farmer. Would stay again.

We visited Castle Bijaipur as a one day outing for my wife's birthday celebrations. We were the only guests that day, that bothered us a bit. But the hospitality of the staff impressed us. Food was good, room was clean and the swimming pool was the cleanest I have ever seen. The only issue was privacy. There was an eerie feeling about the place, perhaps it was the absence of any other guest. Still, we enjoyed ourselves and had a great time.

What a marvellous place to stay. Good rooms. Nice food. Good service. Horse riding just outside the entrance if you want it. 15m pool. Wifi worked in one area only but I did ***age to get a signal from a balcony outside my room. Monkeys outside the gate. Lots of birds and butterflies inside.

Stayed there 1 night as part of a intrepid tour and, again, the chose very well. Very dramatic castle building with a great view of the town from the very top roof viewpoint. Rooms were good size with bathroom, all clean and working well. Swimming pool was a very useful addition, clean and not too cold. Evening meal outside as was very good. Staff very helpful and ran riot when the hot water was not working in the morning.

We only had the one night at this hotel and I would dearly love to go back there. It’s a 350 year old castle beautifully maintained. It is set in hilly countryside in a delightful village. It has a lovely pool set in idyllic surroundings. This hotel/castle is the sort of place you could stay a whole week to unwind and do yoga, swimming or take advantage of the trips into the countryside they arrange. Our room was adorable with lovely views of the village and surrounding countryside.

I enjoyed my stay at this beautiful heritage hotel with a well-maintained pool and clean, spacious rooms (no complimentary water bottles ,though) in its lovely setting, A better chef and food options would get this hotel a perfect score. The food was bland and not fresh tasting, average at its best and it panders too much to Non-Indian tourists. The food at Pangarh Lake Retreat was much nicer. Read less
