Maison d'hôtes "les Tillets"

This is a very special place. Hospitable hosts who made us feel so welcome, beautiful accommodation, fabulous grounds. We had charcuterie in the evening with wine and a fabulous breakfast the next day. The bed was so comfortable and the rooms were filled with beautiful furniture and interesting pieces. Gorgeous shower - even the shower gel was luxurious. We would love to stay again and for longer next time I hope.

With such great reviews you might think ‘can it be that good’? If you stay here you’ll be asking ‘how did that one person not rate this five stars’? Gil and James are such excellent hosts and were so helpful and friendly it will be a highlight of our trip. The place itself is like a dream and yes, it is as good as it looks in the photos. This was amazing!

This guesthouse is the gem of the village called Bois-Sainte-Marie. Beautiful hause with a small Annex. We stayed in the main house with the owners. The beautiful decoration is reflecting the personalities of the owners. The room we stayed was having Asian touches with objects and art they brought from their travels. James and Gilles were great hosts and made us feel "at home". The breakfast is a French style (viennoiseries and bread) with hand-made marmalades and variety of fruits. The French style garden is a piece of art itself and incudes a small swimming pool which is perfect for the warm days! Overall is an ideal place for a relaxing break in the French country side. I would suggest to grab the opportunity and book dinner with them (they do so on Fridays and Saturdays), Gilles is a great cook!!!

Already arriving in the village, you have a great sense of calm and beauty. Then you pass through the large wooden gates into the property and you are in a world that makes you feel welcome and being cared for. The details both in the grounds and the dwellings are really special. The more you look the more you see. The rooms and gardens are so tastefully done and maintained. The photos are completely accurate and its even better in real life. James and Gilles are the perfect hosts; attentive to detail; discreet but always on hand to make sure your stay will be what you deserve and much much more. If you want to pamper yourself and be pampered there is no better place.

We stayed here as part of a longer trip. We chose Les Tillets as a base for going to some of our favorite places in southern Burgundy, including walking and wine. The hosts were lovely and they have created a beautiful spot to relax. The village is tiny and quiet. The rooms and gardens at Les Tillets have been thoughtfully and tastefully designed. Breakfast is also prepared with care and included local fruit. Excellent! We will return.

Gilles and James welcomed us with refreshing drinks to their outstandingly refurbished and decorated 18th century house and garden. We stayed in the spacious room « Retour d’Asie » with the stunning niche bed. They served excellent breakfast with local products, which we were able to enjoy in the gem of their garden, and provided us with good recommandations for places to visit and restaurants to go. All in all, to my sense a perfect place for a quiet, relaxing, romantic stay and « slow bon-vivance ».

Les Tillets offers superlative service in an atmosphere of a stately home. The decor is outstanding with marvellous attention to detail which will enchant you wherever you look. The garden is simply wonderful. I stayed for a wedding in the area and had forgotten my bag at home! No worries, Les Tillets tied me over with the essentials and directed me to where I could purchase a new outfit and thanks to James and Gilles, crisis averted! I must say too that I found the linen sheets a definite plus. Moreover, Les Tillets is located close to a charming church which did not disturb my sleep in the slightest. I will certainly be looking for the next opportunity to stay there again! My warmest and most heartfelt thanks to the hosts!

Nous avons eu le privilège de séjourner en famille aux « Tillets »prestigieuse maison d’hôtes où chaque moment fut une véritable ode au raffinement. Sous l’égide de Gilles et James, des hôtes d’une rare élégance, notre expérience a atteint des sommets d’excellence. Leur accueil empreint d’une délicatesse exquise a transcendé nos attentes, tandis que chaque détail, minutieusement orchestré, a ajouté une touche d’attention à notre séjour. Nichée dans un cadre enchanteur, cette demeure d’exception offre un havre de paix où se mêlent confort et charme d’exception. Les délices culinaires servis au petit déjeuner témoignent d’un savoir-faire incomparable, sublimant ainsi chaque instant de notre passage. Le beau temps a rendu d’autant plus agréable notre expérience, profitant ainsi de la très belle piscine. Nous recommandons avec la plus grande ferveur cet établissement d’exception à ceux en quête d’une expérience hautement prestigieuse et mémorable.

Nous avons passé une nuit aux Tillets et ce fut une expérience plus qu’agréable. Le lieu est enchanteur, la chambre très confortable, les hôtes très charmants et toujours prêts à rendre service et à nous renseigner sur la région et ses richesses qui sont nombreuses. Une cuisine ainsi qu’un salon sont à disposition des hôtes, le tout décoré avec un goût exquis et raffiné. Merci James et Gilles pour votre accueil chaleureux. Nous reviendrons pour un séjour plus long avec des amis afin de découvrir la région.
