Barceló Fuerteventura Castillo

Check in was quick mainly because staff don’t tell you anything just to download an app. The reception staff are rude. The room was adequate, nice decor. Good facilities but could do with some maintenance eg. Patio door handles hanging off. Cleaning is ok but the floors were never cleaned and the bedding was only changed the day before we left. The pool area is nice although could do with a clean, tables are sticky etc. Pool is really cold. The entertainment staff round the pool are really friendly and will not push into joining in activities. The toilets near the pool are disgusting, doors don’t lock, rusty and filthy. One day we had to wait whilst one of the staff members had a smoke in the toilet. The restaurant was a nice area but the staff are awful, so unhelpful and rude. Took my plate away without asking if I’d finished when I put my fork down to take a drink. Ate out nearly every night due to this. DO NOT GO IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU. There was a powercut whilst we were there and there was no communication about this, people were just being told it will be back on in an hour but this went on all day. We saw the guest relations manager arguing with another guest, didn’t think this was an appropriate because it was in the main reception area. Area is lovely would come back but definitely not to this hotel.

This is very good value for money - it is very modern, decorated beautifully and is very clean.But don’t go here if you want to venture out and drink in other bars and restaurants or walk round markets etc as the area around this large hotel is quiet. We stayed very much at the hotel and immediate surroundings, it is right on a beautiful beach where there are water sports - drinks and food was great - plenty of choice and good quality. We will definitely stay in another Barcelo hotel again.

Great location, be prepared to walk around the resort. I didn't realise before travelling that the facilities were between the two hotels

I have just returned from holiday with my sister and elderly mother, both of them required an Assessible room, which we did receive. However, the room must have been the furthest away from the restaurant and the pool and therefore proved a daily struggle. I asked the reception staff if we could be moved, they was very unhelpful and would charge me another 90euros per day. The pool area was very disappointing, no waiters to ask for drinks, had to continually go to the bar !! Poll area and pool toilets were dirty. Definitely not a 4* hotel but wouldn't take much to improve things. I purposely chose this hotel because of the location, near the beach but would have expected an assessible room to be near the pool/restaurant. Very disappointed......... 6th time to this resort but shall not return to this hotel!!

More cupboard space would be great in the kicken or an extra cupboard in the livingroom to put away things, would be very nice.

Overall a good holiday. Lots of areas that can be improved. Will return again. The location is excellent as are room sizes. Poolside bars and staff are good.

Great hotel, lovely food and lovely walks in the area. Would highly recommend going to the Royal Level.

On arrival we felt we were on holiday, the reception was brilliant, especially Anna who found us a better bungalow with a sea view. All the staff are so welcoming and the facilities available are really good. There is plenty of choice at meal times and the staff work so hard. The bungalows are really spacious and comfortable and cleaned everyday. This has been our 2nd visit and will definitely be back.

Lots of good points to the resorts but a few bad points to But overall a nice resort and we would go back so it wasn’t so bad
