"Two blocks from the central square and the main church, Hotel Plaza Colonial is ideally located. The building is old with new paint. The elevator is on the small side with two persons capacity. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The amenities are basic. Lobby is small with not much space to sit. The room is very clean except a cockroach parading in the middle of the room on first night we moved in. We reported it to the receptionist and she was shocked as we were."

"This converted mansion is a slice of Campeche history. Very close to the cathedral & principal square, in the heart of old Campeche. You are told it is self catering. Very clear instructions are provided for your check in. There is usually an attendant available during the day, and any questions posed on WhatsApp are answered almost immediately. You have access to an outdoor kitchen, well appointed. There is a comfortable outdoor seating area. Bikes are available for your use. Washer & drier are also available for you. We were in room # V (5). It is authentic, rustic & beautifully decorated with artisan pottery & antiques. We enjoyed using Casa Lanz as a base to explore Campeche’s history & enjoy some wonderful restaurants."

"The hotel is very centrally located in a renovated building. However, the investment seems to have been more about a facelift and modernization than actual improvements. Our room (a superior one) was so small that if you opened the window, you practically left the rest of the hotel open to the view. There wasn't even a hook in the bathroom, and there was a chair in the room. We had no hot water, and when we asked, they told us there were problems with the water heaters and they couldn't do anything. The next morning, however, there was water throughout the hotel until the woman who works there arrived. It looks very nice in the photos, but that's about it."
