The Queen Victoria

This was our 4th visit to the Queen Victoria but the first with our 2 adult children. The staff was very welcoming and were always there for any questions we may have had. The Prince Albert room was beautiful and included 2 queen beds, good sized bathroom and mini fridge. Pantry is always at your disposal. Delicious breakfasts and the daily teatime is a bonus. Complimentary bikes, beach chairs and towels were appreciated. Looking forward to our next stay at our home away from home!

Our stay was over New Year’s weekend. We were in the 2nd floor Princess Victoria room in the House of Royals building. We had a great experience here, from accommodations to lovely staff and everything in between. Our room was spacious with a super comfortable bed and pillows, and had a great balcony with rockers — though it was too chilly to enjoy them in this season. But what a treat that spot would be in warmer weather! We opened the roller shades and enjoyed having the room bathed in light, thanks to the double height windows. I love a room filled with natural light, and this room was definitely that (if you open the shades). Be aware that the bathroom window has a staircase/fire escape outside it, so you may want to only open the shade over the frosted glass portion. I was surprised to see a person’s head above the frosted portion as they walked down the stairs one day, LOL. The 2nd floor pantry was just steps away, and was stocked with a Keurig and water/sodas. So nice to not have to go downstairs every time we wanted coffee or tea! Overall a wonderful stay in a character filled Cape May landmark.

We recently stayed in a third floor suite in the House of Royals building of the Queen Victoria. Overall I will give high marks for comfort, cleanliness, and location. Our suite had two full bathrooms, two TVs , a sitting room with a pull out couch and electric fireplace , a bar area with fully stocked fridge, ample coffee/tea, and a wine cooler. High quality toiletries, fluffy towels, towel warmer racks and robes were all very much appreciated. Room climate control was excellent although the bathrooms were cold at night if the doors remained shut. There is a second floor pantry with more sodas, coffee, tea, sherry and fresh baked treats. The building itself was not particularly welcoming, though, old carpet, very steep staircases ( yes I know this is typical in big old Victorians) and a quirky entrance system. There’s a bit of an impersonal feel to the inn, which I didn’t expect having stayed at so many other Victorian b&b’s, and a couple of the staff were a bit gruff in their manner. Breakfasts were good, and are served in the different buildings including the one we stayed in, though there were slim pickings in the last half hour of service so I’d suggest eating early. Overall, the decor and a**osphere has a faded, generic and impersonal, kind of utilitarian style to it, maybe more of a Victorian hotel than an inn, with less art , antiques and collectibles than Is more typically found in Victorian b&b’s , at least in my experience . Also, note that street parking is likely a challenge off season, as only a handful of rooms offer parking. But these were are all minor issues for us, and the excellent location and quiet, good night’s sleep each night made for a very nice stay.

Beautifully preserved "painted Lady."Very friendly staff. Parking not so good; not on premises, within 2-3 blocks in the Fall!

Old fashion hotel in a Victorian mansion. Great for a quick visit to Cape May from Delaware Pleasant and helpful staff Difficult parking situation Close to the Convention Center where we had concert tickets.

Loved everything about my stay from the staff, room, and food. I will definitely book again. The location is ideal.

This was our 14th stay in the Queen Victoria. This time we stayed in the room Princess Victoria in the House of Royals. We've stayed in that room before. The room was fantastic. Very spacious. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. They always seem to remember us from year to year. Breakfast was tasty and each morning my wife was offered a pot of tea. We used the bikes, which were in great shape. Our stays in the Queen Victoria never disappoint. Can't wait for our 15th visit. Thanks so much. Maureen and Scott Smith

We spent four nights at the Queen Victoria during the July 4th week holiday. We really didn't know what to expect, but our expectations were really exceeded during our stay. The staff were fantastic, but I would like to offer a shout out to both Monica and Ashley. They would take the time to help us in any way possible to help our stay be more enjoyable. Our room was immaculate and the staff were wonderful in making up the room promptly each day. We look forward to going back during the Chris**as season or perhaps next summer.

We had a lovely stay based on the location of this hotel. Positives included location, friendly staff, lovely porches( on main building) and clean rooms. Negatives were when we arrived we were told our room was in another of their buildings across the street (which was nothing like the main building we believed we were booking) Room was extremely small and bathroom even smaller, very tight and confined. There were no available porches in which to sit and have a cocktail on our building (part of the allure when booking) so we would have to go across the street whenever we wanted to sit outside. There is no available (free parking) so we had to street park about 5 blocks away. Steps inside include 36 very steep to 3rd floor. It wasnt a problem for us as we are very active but for someone with health issues I would imagine it would be very difficult if not impossible. The breakfast was disappointing with primarliy carbs/danish /muffins etc but the fresh fruit and tea was delicious. We didnt eat breakfast the 2nd morning and ate elsewhere, only grabbing a juice and coffee.We travel extensively and comparably felt it was an overall mediocre stay based on those issues for the price but loved the location.
