I will review in two parts, the Hotel and the Walking Tour called Footprints on the Battlefield trails of Monte Cassino which was linked to the Hotel website and upon arrival I found out it was run by the hotels owner Pino. I had booked the tour on 13th April five weeks before my arrival and a Military Tour was my sole purpose of visiting Cassino. I was dismayed to have my tour cancelled by text 18 hours before I was due to go on it, PIno cited an anniversary event and a school twinning event both of which I find hard to believe he was unaware of 5 weeks previously when I booked. By virtue of the internet I was able to find another tour at half the price which met my needs. I was given an immediate refund which was in my account the next day. This is a budget hotel and the state of decoration reflects that. Checking in was easy and we added breakfast to the room price. We had booked a twin room and found a double bed and a single bed, more of a family room and the smaller bed did not have any sockets or light switches next to it. There were broken tiles in the bathroom and door knobs falling off some cupboards. There was a good size balcony which needed a couple of chairs, and there was a great view of the Abbey. Breakfast was very nice with a good typical continental selection There was a lift. In reception there is an interesting display of military memorabilia. The hotel is a 10 minute easy walk from the station. WiFi was free. On a general note there is very little of interest to do in Cassino and on reflection I would have taken a day trip from Rome
