A bit difficult to find as Google Streetview's entry was 10 years old but then it was as we had hoped it would be: A new and stylish palafito integrated into a row of colourful palafitos with a history... Cecilia had already been waiting for us, helped us to get the car parked without dents (2 narrow on-site parking spots) and explained everything we had to know about the 42 m2 apar**ent on the ground floor, in particular how to operate the pellet stove. The apar**ent was just wonderful - wood all over the place including the small bathroom, a well-equipped kitchenette with a matching dining area, a cosy sofa corner with a beautifully woven carpet, a large comfortable bed, the most valuable stove (outside temperatures had still been chilly) and last but not least the wide terrace overlooking the bay with the anchored fishing boats and the "MS World" that had paid a 2-day visit to Castro during our stay. Cecilia had also got us all we needed for breakfast: coffee, tea, milk, butter, jelly, cereal, cake, eggs, fruit, yoghurt and the like. The Palafito was a little paradise - calm at night and at walking distance to the Port, the crafts market and downtown sights. We also loved the restaurant next door where they treated us like neighbours... I'm so glad that I opted for this Palafito instead of one of the Castro hotels. An advice to tourists from outside Latin America: Some basic Spanish will be helpful...
