Earthbox Inn & Spa

We stayed in one of the cabana units with a small courtyard, close to the front, and just across from the pool/jacuzzi/steam room. Comfortable bed and nicely decorated room. Enjoyed the keyless entry and optionally contactless check in/out process. We had the pleasure of a massage at the spa which we'd also highly recommend. We were just a few minutes from the grocery store and the local coffee/food offerings. A short walk to San Juan Island Brewery too! If you fly, it's about a 2-3 minute walk up the hill from the docks.

Amazing stay at EarthBox Inn! Rooms had everything we needed and communication was above and beyond with the front desk. The indoor heated pool, jacuzzi and sauna were the highlight. You always expect a heated pool to not be warm and the building temp to be cold but this was exactly what we wanted to be lukewarm both the water and temp in the building. Thank you so much for making this family trip a one to remember. We will definitely return.

We stayed in the Earthbox Inn and Spa in Friday Harbor for three nights. The Earthbox is a renovated motel. Someone spent time upgrading the decor and amenities, plus adding a spa and indoor fitness area including a heated pool. We didn’t use any of the facilities or spa so I can’t speak to that. Our room was a single queen on the first floor. It was a very small room. Oddly, everything was small. The refrigerator is the smallest of dorm style we have seen in our travels, as were the coffee cups and glasses. Everything seemed mini. The cost at over $210 (before discounts which are frequently offered and which we received) did not match the room we got. Plus, the view was of the parking lot so I don’t get the price point. It’s not worth $200+ a night. On arrival, we asked if we could move to a double queen or King to get more space but was told they were sold out for the 3 nights we stayed here. I checked online and noted 2 of the nights appeared to have available rooms but I didn’t pursue it further. Other exchanges via text only with staff were helpful. The location was central to everything in town and an easy walk to the harbor.

Earthbox is the perfect place to stay in Friday Harbor. Very walkable. Great vibe all around. Friendly, efficient staff. Comfy beds and linens. Pool is perfect temperature and hot tub is big! We've stayed twice and will return many more times.

The staff is wonderful! Our room was very clean and welcoming. After chatting with the front desk I quickly learned that the new owner and staff at this hotel have a, “Please give us feedback so we can improve and make this place even better” attitude. I inquired about adding some coat hooks and room darkening curtains-they are already in the process of installing the coat hooks. I got the impression that the management and staff operate like a seamless team. I felt valued and appreciated. Great place, great people.

We picked Earthbox In specifically because they have a heated indoor pool, as we were traveling with kids. Our experience was exceptional! Clean, spacious rooms and an easy self-check in process. They accommodated our requests for early check-in, as well as late check out which was greatly appreciated as we have special needs family members. Sonja in the office was helpful and knowledgeable of the town. Also, Kitti in housekeeping went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and welcome during our stay. The location couldn't of been more convenient, and we loved the restaurants we tried within easy walking distance. JP's was particularly great, and located right across the street from Earthbox. We are already planning our next trip to Friday Harbor and Earthbox, and looking forward to trying their rooms with kitchenette next!

Very cute office and super sweet lady at the front desk! Came to show my new bf the harbor and whale watching park as it’s one of my fav local places to visit and had a good time :) Very cute room and setup. SUPER quiet as it was the off-season so that was cool. I love that it’s not a large chain company, feels a lot more personable. Pleasant stay and would stay here again :)

It is just a Motel . Easy remote checkin . Clean but outdated. Keep in mind you check in after 4 and you need to get out at 11. So, you are there only 19 hours. Area around it is spooky,

We checked in on Wednesday October 18,2023. 36 hours prior to check in, we were informed that the “spa” was shut down. So no pool, no jacuzzi, no sauna, and no opportunity to change our reservation without paying full price so we came anyway. Best thing I can say about Earthbox, is it’s a good location. That’s the highest praise I can muster. The beds are hard, as are the pillows. Our room didn’t get cleaned once in our 4 night stay. They didn’t offer any compensation for the lack of amenities and there wasn’t a single commercial free channel on the tv. The bathrooms are tiny and frankly dirty and though there were probably only 20 guests in the entire complex we were all grouped together so it was really noisy. I’ve traveled extensively and this was one of the least enjoyable stay’s I’ve ever had. No recommendation from me.
