Vandayar Hotel

The hotel is 9 years old, the maintenance is quite poor . On top of that there was renovation going on at level 1. Hence the rooms we were staying was dusty and smelly

I had a meetup with my college friends recently and we stayed here for few days. From warm hospitality to well-maintained rooms, this hotel offers a delightful stay. The staff’s friendliness and attention to cleanliness stood out. Modern amenities, including free internet access, add to the comfort. Conveniently located near the bus stand, Vandayar Hotel is a top choice for travelers.

This may be the best hotel in Chidambaram but that’s not saying much. As other reviewers have written, it’s a bit old and worn; the rooms get lots of street noise; many of the rooms have bugs; and the bathroom has now divider or curtain for the shower. Rooms are pretty unattractive too. The breakfast is ok; nothing to write home about. Dinner options are fine. It is what it is. At least it’s only a 5-7 minute walk to the east gate of the temple.

Booked Executive room over phone. Offered only superior room on arrival, as Executive rooms were blocked for MD for a domestic function. Soiled Bed spread and pillow covers. Room appeared like not cleaned after check out by earlier guest. Damped towels were provided. Replaced on request and informed dampness due to previous night rain. Bathroom need renovation. No exhaust fan in bathroom. No house-keeping person was available on check out, even after informed well in advance. Breakfast is good. Overall experience - Deteriorating service quality and need much improvement. Not at all worth for money.

The whole stay was a terrible experience. The hotel was smelly and dirty. The bed was not made and the room was clean. The bedsheets had blood stains and we had to get the staff to change with the manager present. The cutlery and utensils had stains.

This is an average hotel , but they will loot you if do late check out . They have charged one day full amount for late checkout . very untidy bedsheets , could see used cotton buds under the pillow !

I am already checked in some luxury hotels in Chidambaram . But , Vandayar Hotel Environment Like international Standard. Veg Restaurant and Non veg Restaurant Running Separately . Higher officials and Ministers one choice in Chidambaram

Hotel was not maintained properly, rooms are in bad condition. NO Wifi in rooms. Too costly for what they serve we pay. Cleanliness is a big question mark??? Room size is very small. One good thing is the location. Breakfast was average.

Occupied Family Room. Room is neat and spacious to accommodate 4 persons with one King Size bed and two single beds. No lift facility is available for this building – 2 floors (this was informed while booking). Reasonably priced. Air-condition: The split A/c is not sufficient for the room and the noise from the A/c unit in our room disturbed us throughout the night. Parking: Parking is real challenge. A security guard is posted to regulate the vehicle movement but someone’s vehicle damaged our parked car and we did not get a responsible reply from the management/staff. Payment: The reception staff requested me to pay an advance while I checked in and informed that the balance could be settled through credit card at the time of check-out. While checking out, they insisted on cash payment. They informed that the card-swipe device was not working. After my several requests, they accepted my credit card (using the “so called not working” device).
