"Nice, large cabin with comfortable bed, AC, decent sized fridge, good bathroom facilities, good beach towels. Nice pool as well with girl birding from the pool deck. Good gallo pinto breakfast as well. The place needs some upgrading. Having beach chairs provided was great but they really needed to be replaced. The door to the toilet would not stay shut. The location was really good, right across the street from a beach access. El Facon restaurant next door was excellent. The supermarket and the best soda in Sta.Teresa were a few minutes walk away. We would not go back to Santa Teresa. The beach is marvellous but the town is dusty, crowded with tourists, and chaotic. This place seems to be for self-concerned flat-bellied 20-somethings."

Очевидно, что этот отель не был надлежащим образом уборщён или обслуживался в течение долгого времени. Сочетание грязных условий, насекомых на кровати и совершенно равнодушных сотрудников делает это место совершенно опасным. Избегайте этого отеля любой ценой. Это не стоит рисковать вашему здоровью или здравоохранению."

"Unrespectful drunk volunteers settled in rooms and common areas making your stay a real bad experience. cigarret smoke, bad smell in rooms and toilets that don't work, suitcases, wet clothes and towels that belong to the volunteers and their friends all over the place difficulting transition in your room even to your bed. Watch your stuff, lockers can be opened with any key. My prescription glasses were taken in my room by someone suposedly by mistake later on appearing 1 km down the road all scratched up ruining my whole trip. Totaly useless and unresponsive employees."

"This is a solid, comfortable hotel and exactly what you’d hope for at this price point. Clean rooms, air conditioning that actually works, a decent pool, and overall great value for the money. No complaints there. But what really put this place over the top was Luis, the hotel manager. From the start, he had that calm, cool, trustworthy energy — helped in no small part by the fact that he was wearing an Atticus Finch shirt. At that moment I thought, “Alright… this is clearly a man of character.” Sure enough, after I had already left the hotel, Luis personally texted me with a photo of my Kindle and a very expensive pair of glasses I’d accidentally left behind. Luckily, I had my phone number written on the back of the Kindle (this was, unfortunately, the second time I’ve lost it), which made getting in touch easy. No drama, no hesitation — just pure honesty and kindness. Thanks to him (and a friendly fellow guest who helped with the handoff), everything made it safely back to me. Any tiny issue anyone could ever have with a hotel completely disappears when you’re treated like that. Luis restored my faith in humanity, and that alone makes this a five-star stay. I’d absolutely come back."

"Impeccable. This boutique hotel is a gem! From the enormous contemporary rooms, to the quality of the linens, to the attention from the lovely Spanish owners Antonia & Carmel. We truly wish we could have stayed here longer. Carmel always had great suggestions on what to do and where to go, which was so helpful. The hotel is situated super conveniently just steps from Santa Teresa beach. With many delicious restaurants, coffee shops and cute boutiques at a walking distance. Delicious breakfast was made for us every morning. And for a very affordable fee, Carmel made us authentic Spanish lobster paella on our second night, it was truly spectacular! We were also able to wash clothes, which was so convenient for us since we still had some more traveling to do in gorgeous Costa Rica. With 4 well appointed suites, delicious daily breakfast and a pool, we will be back with family soon. Highly HIGHLY recommend Arjau Boutique Hotel for your stay in Santa Teresa. Un millón de gracias a Carmel y Antonia por todas sus atenciones. Muchas bendiciones."

"We stayed in the birdcage apartment and it was great! At the top of a mountain so view of mountain and all the way to the ocean. Customer Service We had an unexpected delay in travel plans and I called to let them know i would likely not make the posted check-in window. Marco let me know it was not a problem and we could check in anytime and he would leave instructions to our room on a white board near the entry. When we arrived, all of the info we needed was right there along with his WhatsApp number. I texted him when we arrived (about an hour after check in window ended) and he came to the apartment and gave us the rundown. We found out during the duration of our stay that Marco lives on-site and is a one man show that takes care of site maintenance, pool cleaning, directing housekeeping, checking guests in and out of rooms (and probably a lot more) He is really helpful and friendly and ended up being a huge help when we realized we should have reserved ATV rentals in advance. I asked if, as a local, he knew of any “off the beaten path”rental companies that might not be as busy and he went out of his way to help us call around to rental companies and we got quads last minute during peak season (it was quite a feat) Property The property is on the top of a hill allowing for a view of the mountain below all the way to the ocean when it’s clear. The property itself is clean, beautifully landscaped and well maintained. The view from the pool deck and apartment is unmatched. Especially for the price! Rooms The birdcage apartment is on the 2nd story of a small building with a private bathroom on the 1st story. It has windows on all 4 sides (2 of which are sliding glass doors) with curtains that can be closed for privacy or opened for 360 views/sunlight. It has an outdoor kitchen and a bar counter with barstools overlooking the ocean. It was wonderful to enjoy the fresh air while cooking breakfast and eat outside with a view of the ocean. The outdoor kitchen has a mini fridge, sink, stove, toaster, blender, dish towels, dish soap, cooking oil, pots/pans, knives, spatulas, bowls, plates, multiple types of cups, silverware, etc. EVERYTHING you could need to prepare a meal had been considered. We saved a lot of money by cooking a lot of our own meals. PSA to future bookers of birdcage The private bathroom with a lock was on the 1st story and the apartment is on the 2nd story so you had to leave the room, go outside and go down the stairs to use it. Not a huge deal, and that’s the trade off you make for windows on all 4 sides. There are other apartments available with bathrooms inside if this would be a problem for you. Bring the trashcan from the kitchen into your room. We had animals that visited us the first night (monkeys? Raccoons?) that knocked over the trash can and we woke up to trash spread everywhere. This is also the only apartment this applies to as the other ones have inside kitchens."
