"We had tried to stay two nights at Hotel du Nord, written up years ago in New York Times Travel, but were able to book only one night there. "The hotel is in a beautiful setting in a narrow gorge, with views of steep forested mountains close and far away, complete with a gushing river tumbling over rocks. The room was very large and clean yet basic. No duvet but there were blankets. The ground floor has a bar area where staff will serve drinks or food from a small menu. You can sit outside and listen to the river or sunbath. There’s a warm under cover pool with retractable roof and also a jacuzzi. Parking is limited. You can park down the steep hill but difficult to manoeuvre or on the side of the road. Corte is about a twenty minute walk downhill for more bars and restaurants."

"Such a great couple of days in Si Mea! Max 15 walk to city centre with nice restaurants and ice creams. Hotel grounds are very well kept and a great place to unwind after a hike or just relax at the pool. Our room had a great private balcony with super view. Breakfast was great and served at the beautiful terrace, again with great views. Staff is friendly, helpful and respectful."
