Els Jardins de La Martana

When we arrived they said they wanted us to feel at home - and they really made us feel like that, showing us round, leaving out snacks in the kitchen area to graze on and providing several beautiful spaces to hang out. This gorgeous old house is in a fantastic location right by the bridge, and has an old-world elegance and charm about it. In the evening the restaurant below closes so you can take drinks down to the terrace with one of the best views in town. The cool jacuzzi on the roof again has fantastic views and is a great spot for a relaxing dip when you need to unwind. A really special couple of nights - would highly recommend you ignore the three star rating, knowing if you book this place you will be staying somewhere with real character.

We loved everything from the warm welcome on arrival, helpful and friendly staff, beautiful situation and art deco building. It was comfortable and excellent value . The views from the terrace are superb. We loved the invitation to eat our own picnics .. what more could you want

Both the hotel building and the setting/location are so special! This is truly a historic building right at the end of the Roman Bridge that has been modernized but has kept the original tile floors and ceiling paintings etc etc. Walking around on the different floors and areas is almost like going to a museum but it's all comfortable for sitting and enjoying yourself. We had room 1 which has a balcony with the amazing view of the Bridge and the town and you just don't want to leave at all. The room was really nice in every way. They even give you free bottles of water every day! Breakfast buffet was great with many options and a really nice patio where everyone ate and enjoyed! And parking was free in a lot next to the hotel and across the street from it, so we always got a spot if/when we went off to explore other towns. Staff were all very helpful, offering advice and answering questions. This is definitely the place to stay when visiting Besalu!! We enjoyed 3 nights here!

Worth to visit if you are passing by or somewhere close, a small medieval city with nice restaurant in it. Try pont vell restaurant. A lot of authentic handmade stores inside the town. Parking is free. City is close to girona, 40min by car. Try and you wont regret

No se puede elegir un alojamiento mejor en Besalú. No solo por ser un edificio histórico, una casa con voz propia y un pasado que contar, no sólo por su ubicación inmejorable en la entrada del maravilloso puente, ni siquiera por la magia que transmite , ni por las maravillosas vistas desde la terraza de tu habitación. Eso bastaría para darle la máxima puntuación a esta casa, pero esa valoración sería insuficiente para agradecer lo más importante; la maravillosa atención y entrega del personal de este alojamiento. El trabajo silencioso, con una solicitud y un mimo admirables de Rosa. La atención con una amabilidad exquisita y la mayor simpatía de María José, cuidando cada detalle para que te sientas mejor que en casa desde el primer café. Y, por encima de todo, la magia de Montse que todo lo envuelve desde el momento que te presenta a la casa con todo el amor posible, su sonrisa permanente, la paz profunda que de ella emana y su gran sabiduría que no duda en compartir. Los breves momentos que compartimos con ella quedan para siempre en nuestros corazones. Un alma pura y gemela cuyo recuerdo nos acompañará siempre. Buen desayuno, todo muy limpio y las chicas que trabajan allí encantadoras. El colchón muy cómodo y las vistas espectaculares. lo único malo son las escaleras.

Estuvimos en la suite, preciosa habitación romántica con todos los detalle, el jacuzzi fabuloso....el desayuno muy bien y el trato de la sra que nos llevó a la habitación super bien, recomendado 100%, la ubicación excelente.

Tres belle expérience, accueil adorable, belle et propre chambre, très bon petit déjeuner et magnifique vue! A faire!
