"I think you should forget about the red-top series. The wall-mounted hairdryer is just for decoration; it's unusable. The salesperson said they had bath products, but those were also just for show; pressing the buttons didn't work. They just gave you two cheap bath products. As for the environment, I rarely have allergies, but after one night, I developed hives all over. I was so embarrassed. Buying allergy medication abroad is actually quite difficult. I won't describe the toilets in detail; they're all in the photos."

"The hotel is a little far from downtown Detroit, but the surrounding area is relatively safe and quiet, with supermarkets and restaurants just a few minutes away. The courtyard room is especially great, you can sit on a chair outside the door and look at the courtyard while drinking coffee and daydreaming (⸝⸝ᵕᴗᵕ⸝⸝), the breakfast is relatively simple. Parking is free, and there is a self-service laundry."

"I wish I could give negative stars! My fiancé booked the room on points and gifted me the reservation because I would arrive before his flight arrived. He travels for work and had the day off for his and flew to Detroit. He advised I would need an early check in and they advised that they may not be able to accommodate, however I could come in early and see if it was available. I also work for Marriott and understand the process, so I did not mind. When I arrived, I went to check in and the front desk agent asked where my fiancé was, I advised that he was still on the plane however I was also on the reservation and would be checking in. She took my ID, entered my information and had me swipe my card. There was a form at the front desk that said “ no balloons, candles, rose petals, or decorations, no parties. So, I asked if bringing a gift in was okay because it was his birthday. The lady went in the back and brought out another woman, who reiterated that there were no parties or decorations allowed, and that I needed $200 cash to check in. I asked what the $200 would be for if she already swiped my card. She said it was the deposit and I only paid for incidentals. When I asked her to explain, she said I was fine and that they would just use the card that I already swiped. They then told me my room was not yet ready. I also work front desk and understand that sometimes housekeeping is behind, so I said that was fine and I didn’t mind waiting. I’m sat in the lobby for a while before asking to borrow a pair of scissors and going outside to wrap my gift. Once I returned the front desk agent said my reservation was cancelled. When I inquired what had happened she told me that she wasn’t sure but Marriott did it. When I asked for clarity, she kept saying she didn’t know. She also stated nothing would be held on my card. At this time my fiancé’s flight was arriving in 25 minutes, so I left to get him. Now we’re supposed to be celebrating his birthday with nowhere to stay. When he got off of the plane I advised our reservation was cancelled and he called Marriott. They stated the reservation was cancelled by the hotel due to fraud. Now, I was very cooperative with the hotel, everything I have and gave them belonged to me and are official, so there was no reason to cancel the reservation. We went back to the hotel to get an understanding of what happened and the lady lied and said she didn’t cancel until he said he spoke with Marriott. At that point she stated he had to be present for me to get the room. I advised that I was in the reservation and he stated he had talked to Marriott as well as the staff there prior to me going to make sure there would be no issues, so he was wondering what had changed. She said he had to be there and I advised that I work for Marriott and made sure that he had me added so we wouldn’t have any issues and she said every Marriott had different rules even though they had advised that we would be okay if I checked in.
