Deogarh Mahal

Deogarh Mahal is a 17th century palace lovingly preserved by the erstwhile royal family of Deogarh. We had a truly authentic experience of living in a real palace with superb hospitality and service. The food is absolutely delicious especially the local Mewari cuisine. Our room was really spacious with a separate sitting area and a huge bathroom. The Sheesh Mahal (palace of mirrors) on the top floor which used to be the personal living area of the Raja of Deogarh is beautifully preserved and a treat to visit. The hotel organized a sunset tea on the lake on a private speed boat which is the most gorgeous sunset I have ever seen. On the second day we were taken on a safari picnic into the Kumbalgarh forest. You must also not miss the train ride through the forest orgainized by the hotel … do check the dates since the train ride is only three days of the week. Deogarh Mahal is truly a hidden gem and we will definitely come back again…

Dilapidated old hotel. I am sure the website video was made 25 years ago. Our room was dark dingy and the pigeons were roosting right outside. Pool old and dirty, lots of steps which would make it very difficult for anyone disabled. Food was very ordinary and served buffet style - but with lots of slops! Only indian food available. Limited alcohol available. Not possible to lock our room once we were inside. Would not go back. The nearby Dev Shree Hotel looked a much better option and right on the lake.The others all did the afternoon safari and enjoyed it.

Beautiful building, but a poor hotel. Rooms need a complete update, very little storage, And very little natural light. showers flood the bathroom. Breakfast very little choice, dinner ok buffet, views from roof top restaurant good. Had a massage which was excellent.

A hertiage palace hotel in Deogarh, Rajasthan. Walking through the vilage of Deogarh to the hotel is a wonderful introduction. A beautiful setting, with trees and quiet gardens, our room was twin beds, with a dressing area and a large bathroom, very comfortable beds. Interesting architecture with cake like domes, a lovely roof top deck with views over the village, lots of stairs to explore. Loved this place.

It’s a good experience staying at this hotel but it’s glory has come to an end quiet dated rooms not appealing,in need of renovations specially the bathroom. Our lunch and dinner almost the same.the service and its staff are very attentive. The Wi-Fi is bad but got provided with a dongle from reception. we had a SPA but didn’t enjoy that at all. for me the massager was lacking experience.the price we paid didn’t reflect to the quality of service.cost more or less like in Europe.

The Deogarh Mahal is a once in a lifetime experience. The palace itself has to be seen to be believed with its spacious suites and luxury living. The real joy is exploring the palace with all of its quirks and its history. We went on the jeep nature ride and had the pleasure of being shown so ***y birds by the very knowledgeable guide who learnt his English and his bird expertise from the previous Maharaja. The staff do everything in their power to ensure you have a wonderful time and they certainly succeeded with me.

Deogarh Mahal is a beautiful place to stat. We had very spacious and characterful rooms with the large balcony overlooking the town as well as the part of the hotel. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed a relaxing stay, walking around the town and also having a massage at the hotel's spa (which was excellent.) In the evenings we had drinks by the fire with our host following by dinner. Dinner was excellent and breakfast was a a wonderful spread. You can walk around the roof of the hotel in and around turrets and enjoy an amazing view.

The night view of this hotel is spectacular. Not quite so during the day. The room is very spacious. It is all inclusive - breakfast and dinner. The first night I had buffet dinner. So so. The second night I had outdoor candle light dinner which had a very ro***tic ambience and the thali set dinner was much better than buffet. Breakfast was typical Indian style. However, there was not much to do or see other than the castle stay.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The room they put me in was huge. It was such an interesting experience staying at an old castle. They had a nice pool and restaurant. The restaurant staff helped to make sure I had vegan meals. The dinner they made me was absolutely delicious. There is a village right outside of the castle to explore, and it was fun to climb and explore the castle as well. Highly recommended.
