Romans Villa

It’s very difficult to find this place as the Google location is not accurate and if you cannot make a call to the establishment you would never find it. Be sure to get written directions before you set out. Once there it’s far from any restaurants so you really have to eat there. Fortunately the food is good, but they send you a message in the morning of your arrival and ask you to choose your dinner meal! Not all affordable wine is available but they accommodated my choice of Pinot Noir. The breakfast is good. The place is in need of a refurbishment and hasn’t been well maintained. The bed is very comfortable, the bathroom spacious but lacking a vanity to place your toiletries and they only provide 2 bath towels so you have damp towels in the morning. There are different coloured random hangers in the wardrobe which lowers the tone of the suite immediately. Very bare bathroom walls, could do with heated towel rails or heating as the space was cold even in summer. Robes are luxurious. The view is beautiful and a path leads you down to the beach below. The entry into Gansbaai and to the hotel from the Hermanus side is very unattractive and uninspiring. Once in the estate the fynbos is lovely and buck walking around is lovely.

1) We slept in suit 2, which is above the kitchen. All the cooking they do you smell it in your room. 2) The balcony is not private you share it with the guest from suite 1, when the guest from room 1 walk your bathroom they can look right into it, no privacy. Also other guest can walk from the garden onto the balcony. 3) food is very good but menu is very limited, we ate at different places after first night. 4) Cushions outdoor furniture dirty. 5) There is a first for everything, but a safe just put in the closet I never heard of. 6) The 2 armchairs on the pictures of this room are gone, instead you have a very uncomfortable small cough.

We wanted somewhere for 3 nights to relax and do nothing…. And we found it ! Superb location with amazing views. Peaceful and quiet. Lovely walks along the beach , straight from the garden area. Fantastic rooms with comfy beds and a great shower . Very friendly helpful staff , always on hand to help when needed . Great breakfast with lots of choice. 3 course evening meal was excellent , lovely chef that was very happy to make changes to the menu. Thank you

This place exceeded all of our expectations, beautiful views, phenomenal food and the service went beyond any other hotel or bed and breakfast we have stayed at in our many years of travel. The breakfast buffet as well as the menu was fantastic and the dinners were ＞5 star. We can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our experience. Shout out to Melissa and her Team for making our stay one we won’t forget.

Totally amazing sublime setting with an architecturally spectacular home perched over the most perfect maybe 2 mile crescent beach. Open your doors at night to sleep on The highest quality bedding to the sounds of the crashing sound Indian Ocean. Beach walks are amazing with tidal pools seals and birds and a section of blue beach (yes- from finely ground mussel shells.). The staff are nothing short of DELIGHTFUL and warm and accommodating as imaginable and Melissa the chef du maison creates spectacular dinners and breakfast with locally sourced fresh fresh ingredients from the sea and turf. This place is a perfect part of a tour of the western cape to see the unspoiled coastline whilst you get spoiled yourself!

The beautiful guest house with the most amazing view over Walker Bay, is just the perfect place to wind down and rejuvinate. The hosts are so helpful, friendly and passionate about their guests. Carmen is always bubbly and chef Austin is amazing. The food is excellent. So much attention to detail. The beautiful private beach is such a bonus and walking on the estate and enjoying the views and wild life and fynbos is such a privilege.

Ein besonders Highlight unserer Reise. Wir wurden nicht nur kulinarisch verwöhnt, sondern haben in einer besonderen Umgebung Herzlichkeit und Professionalität erlebt. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Ein Geheimtipp für alle, die etwas Besonderes suchen.

Excellente adresse. Une de nos meilleures en Afrique du Sud. Face à la mer dans un domaine privé tout à fait sauvage, on peut se promener sur une plage déserte. Excellent accueil. On peut - très bien - diner sur place. Le cadre est raffiné et tout à fait confortable. Bref on recommande très chaleureusement

Sehr schönes Haus in bester Höhenlage über einem privaten Strand. Freundliches Personal und sehr gute Küche. Leider um den Pool keine Sonnenschirme und kein Schatten. Weinkarte sehr gut und schön nur waren alle bestellten Weine nicht auf Lager. Aber wir fanden dann doch noch was gutes.
