Had an awful experience staying here. We arrived at around 11pm and were told that foreigners were not allowed to stay in the hotel. We explained that we entered China before the pandemic and we were able to provide passport stamps, test results, travel information etc. The only reason we were being turned away was nationality, since we could show all relevant documentation.
It took two hours and six police arriving before they agreed to allow us to stay, so I had very little sleep which ruined the river cruise we had booked for the next day. I have traveled around China a lot, and this attitude towards foreigners is NOT typical. We have visited many hotels during the pandemic, including other Vienna hotels (so I can assume this was the manager's decision and not company policy) and 999 times out of 1000 people are very kind, polite and non-discriminatory. This hotel is not one of the 999.
