Mercure York Fairfield Manor Hotel

The reason we booked this hotel because of the convenience of parking, despite seeing some honest, unsatisfied reviews. I am disappointed after staying for 3 nights, I would not go there again. Disappoin**ent: 1.the room really needs some work to do, such as sash window couldn't open after asking for help to shut it, the thermostat was off the wall and the tap needed turning for ever to get the water out. 2. No aircon or ventilation system in place. The window was important for fresh air which did not serve the purpose. 3. The reception was informed about these problems on arrival, she (the bleached hair local girl) was not bothered by. She asked us to turn the radiator off after she was informed the thermostat was off the wall. She was not bothered by the faulty facility and did not mention asking someone to have a look or fix. I had to give her a point that she said not to touch it. She is unlike the other staff who were clearly care and helpful. 4. Super small television 5. Dirty drink tray 6. Chipped mug Good points 1. Bar service was good, especially the evening staff. 2. Quiet at night time 3. Bed was nice, not hard and not soft. General impression: It was not good value for the money, £400 for 3 nights.

Everything was great! Good location and easy access to all local amenities and site seeing. Quiet hotel and set in nice grounds.

It is expected to arrive at the hotel by car. It is really convenient to do park and ride in York. The hotel room was spacious and clean, and the most important is that it is pet friendly too, with an extra £15 per night for the pet.

We went down for our 5th anniversary, we arrived and the outside building looked really nice. when we got to our room, the light in the toilet was leaking and it had flooded the bathroom, we changed rooms but the only room they had available was 2 single beds

前台服務生給人賓至如歸的感覺還在uber不給力的時候幫忙叫車，非常感謝！

房間整潔，位置不錯

Cant fault the hotel itself but on several occasions my wife and i were (in our opinion) deliberately over charged every time we ordered food or short changed ar the bar! This was always by the evening staff and im not sure if this is there way of bumping up their wages.

Recent short notice stay at this hotel. We were warned about the work going in the bar/restaurant area. Good points were friendly and helpful staff and decent quality food. The breakfast was being served in what looked like a meeting room and was typical full English hotel breakfast, but perfectly fine. We ordered room service in the evening using their app. Food was delivered quickly and hot. Really good quality, if a little pricey. The hotel is also in a useful location with attractive grounds and plenty of parking. WiFi was fast and easy to connect to. The main downside, however, was the standard of the room and the general decor of the communal areas. The room was well below the standard of a 4 star hotel and the bathroom very tired - the sticker on the heated towel rail stating it had failed electrical inspection was particularly unimpressive. Toilet didn't flush very well and the sink was very slow to drain. Overall, not a terrible stay by any means but difficult to recommend in its current state. Does look as if the company is starting to modernise, however and it is in a good location for the north side of York
