Aston at Poipu Kai

We loved the spacious 1 bedroom condo and it was an easy walk to the beach. We would come again. As returning visiting former residents we wanted to feel like locals rather than tourists.

Besides the worn-out living room furniture, our unit was very acceptable. The biggest problem was the Clydesdale Family in the upstairs unit - there is no sound insulation and their constant clomping was very disturbing. The location was great. I would stay here again - but only an upstairs unit.

Price you pay is actually much higher than the advertised room fee (read the fine print there is a $250 cleaning fee). The unit itself was clean and spacious no complaints there. Front desk very friendly.

We have stayed at the Aston many times and have always been happy with everything included. The front desk has always been very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent for beach access and easy walking distance to several eating establishments.

We reserved well in advance for a particular unit. When we checked in they gave us a unit right over the pounding of the tennis courts and right by an open noisy, bar. When I asked why I was not getting the Suite that was advertised, they said they never received that request, which was inconceivable because it was located exactly where I wanted to be and that's why I clicked on it. They also said the owner was going to be using it-absurd-why would the owner have left those days open to rent??

Our place was very clean, great view. The extra taxes and fees was a little bit of a shock because it was almost as much as the stay, but the staff was super helpful and very sweet. The place was centrally located and one could easily walk to numerous activities if one desired.

******* photos are VERY deceiving! Photos showed beautiful updated and remodeled units. We ended up with a unit that hadn't been updated since the 70's. Lumpy dirty carpet in the bedrooms. Mold and mildew in the bathrooms. Ceiling fans with broken chains and dirt buildup on blades. Unpainted Patched holes in the wall above sliding glass door. Old fixtures and furniture. Tub faucet leaks. Rusty beach chairs, no umbrella. We paid a cleaning fee upfront yet I was picking up dead bugs in the bathroom and wiping everything off in the kitchen. Rusty refrigerator. Old fashioned keys that stick instead of keyless entry. We paid TOP dollar for a unit that needs to be completely remodeled. VERY deceptive marketing. We should be refunded something since we reserved an updated unit and paid for one but didn't receive one. Paid 3k for the week. The grounds were beautiful and well kept and all the other units that had doors open were very nice. Location is perfect. They just gave us the bottom of the barrel with the oldest and most run down unit!

Location is ok. Old building with an unusual floor plan. Crossbreeze was minimal, it was hot and no a/c. Management needs to check the room before renting out, floors dirty, conditioner empty, lipstick on coffee tumbler and some dishes dirty.
