"Я родом из Кендала, но сейчас живу за границей. Я остановилась здесь, чтобы навестить родственников, и решила побаловать себя хорошим отелем после нескольких лет отсутствия. Это место оказалось совсем не таким, как я ожидала. При заселении сотрудница на ресепшене попросила меня оплатить проживание (разумеется, я уже внесла предоплату на trip.com). Когда я указала на это, она стала довольно грубой. Нас поселили в номер прямо рядом с офисом, и мы слышали, как персонал болтает в любое время суток. Шум в коридоре от других гостей будил нас несколько раз за ночь (несмотря на табличку «Тишина»). На следующее утро в 6 утра сработала пожарная сигнализация. Всем пришлось эвакуироваться на целых 45 минут под дождем, пока мы ждали пожарную бригаду… даже не предложив бесплатного завтрака, кофе или чего-либо еще после этого. В номерах нет кондиционеров, они очень маленькие, ванная комната крошечная, и места для вещей мало. Ресторан à la carte слишком дорогой, а еда была недожаренной или пережаренной (как можно не уметь готовить картошку?). Лично я бы не рекомендовал этот отель, когда в городе есть Premier Inn..."

"On arrival I was greeted with staff who looked and acted fed up, they could see I was disabled and used a walking stick, no one offered to open the door to the rooms which was very heavy. Once through said door I was hit with the most disgusting smell and spoke to the poor couple who's bathroom it was coming from. They told me they'd reported it but was only offered the room next door which also smelled. The carpet in the corridor to the rooms was disgusting covered in stains. I only ate there 1 night as the food was microwaved and obviously bought in precooked, the walls were covered in marks which could've done with a lick of paint. Outside the hotel was littered with cigarette butt's. Staff never smiled and always looked and acted like they were fed up and obviously couldn't even to pretend to enjoy their jobs and always made me feel like I was bothering them. I know Kendal and know this hotel is relatively new but you'd never know it. After recently staying in a Premier Inn in Glasgow I was shocked at the difference. It may be a so called budget hotel but they certainly don't have budget prices. "

"We stayed one night breaking a journey to Scotland. When we got into the bedroom, the light wasn’t working , we reported this and were offered an exchange, but that room had problems with the taps, so we managed without the main light - we were told they do not have any maintenance staff to repair it. It was late afternoon and we were tired, so we decided to eat at the hotel. They gave us 2 menu’s, one was a set menu for a coach party that were staying, and the other the standard menu. When my husband went to order off the set menu, we were told it had been withdrawn due to the coach party cancelling. My husband queried as to whether there would be a chef, and the lady on reception said yes. We then went to eat, we were the only people in the restaurant, ordered nachos as a starter, a pizza and fish cake, chips and veg as a main meal. The bar staff had difficulty putting the order through, so they got the reception lady who had booked us in, she then put the food through which we had to pay up front. We waited quite a while, then the food came all at once, instead of the starter first. The nachos were just Dorito style crisps with melted cheddar style cheese on top, all congealed with a side of salsa and guacamole - they were awful (picture to follow) no sour cream. The pizza was OK, the fish cakes and chips were inedible, the chips were not cooked and the veg completely dried up and again inedible (picture to follow). Whilst waiting for the food we were brought condiments, I checked the dates on the condiments (I usually do) and the majority were out of date, some dating back to December 2025. I complained about my meal and it was sent back - the lady from reception took it (she had served it) and also apologised about the condiments, saying they were checked every few days, which clearly wasn’t true. My food returned, better cooked this time but not great - by this time we were suspicious as to whether there was actually a chef, we asked a member of staff who had cooked the food and were told it was the lady on reception that had cooked as the chef had gone home! When she returned with the food my husband asked her whether there was a chef, initially she said yes, then when challenged she said because the coach party had cancelled their meals (we found out later they cancelled because the food had been so awful the night before), the chef had gone home! So the lady on reception had cooked the food, my husband asked her whether she had any food hygiene/catering experience and she said yes, but somehow I doubt it. We then asked for a refund on my meal and the starter, to which she said she couldn’t do but offered us ice cream instead (which we declined). To cut a long story short, my husband spoke to the manager in the morning who said he would look into it and he couldn’t issue a refund, then a few days later following an email from my husband the area manager gave us a complete refund for the food. We have stayed at many Best We"

"An absolutely beautiful and spacious room with an extremely comfortable bed and a lovely bay window at the front of the house. Warm, cosy and comfortable and very well equipped. Breakfast was of an exceptionally high standard and was by far the best we’ve ever had! A plentiful selection of high quality pastries, fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurts and cheeses. The cooked breakfast was delicious (especially the bacon) with locally sourced produced. Glynis was the perfect host; very friendly and gave us some great information about the local area and suggestions on where to visit. Kendal was such a lovely place that we’re already planning a return visit and when et do, we’ll most definitely be staying here. Thanks for a lovely stay!"
