Hideout Koh Kood

What a brilliant hotel! Staff extremely friendly and helpful, helping me even before my stay. The grounds are beautiful, with amazing views over the water and a small beach. i thoguht the location was great, very close to the beautiful Klong Hin Beach, but it retains its peacefulness out of the way surrounded by palm trees. I liked the room, decor was lovely. Shower was a little rusty though. I had a nice meal in the restaurant in the evening, also good food at the pool. Value for money was excellent. Only downside was a disappointing breakfast.

De kamers zijn prachtig! En er hangt een goede sfeer op het resort. Ga zeker naar koh kood als je in de gelegenheid bent. Het is een rustig eiland en veel minder toeristisch dan een koh chang. Let op je hebt wel een scooter nodig om je makkelijk te kunnen verplaatsen. Deze is te huren bij het hotel. Mooi zwembad, en klein strandje (let op wel met rotsen) goed restaurant. Personeel spreekt redelijk engels. Kajak is gratis net als de minibar. Wij zouden zeker terugkomen.

Wonderful experience at Hideout, attentive staff, beautiful surrounding...close to Klong Hin beach...best escape in Thailand we had... It's a peace, quite atmosphere, great dishes, wonderful breakfast.. We liked it both (Koh Kood island and Hideout glamping resort).

The best way to sum up our experience of this hotel was the staff had zero interest in being helpful. The day before our arrival, I messaged the property and asked how we would find our ride from the pier to the hotel because that is often a chaotic and confusing experience. I was just told that a songthaew would be at the pier. In fact, there were dozens of songthaews with drivers who spoke no English. We wandered around until a man pointed at a woman with a clipboard; she had a list of hotels with numbers indicating which songthaew was for the Hideout. Why couldn’t they just have told me that when I asked? From the start, at check-in we were given a key and provided no indication of where on the property our “villa” was located. After waiting a while and then asking, the receptionist told us to walk behind the golfcart with our bags. The room itself is a concrete cube with a bed on a raised concrete slab that is almost knee height, and that took up nearly the entire room. To get into the bed, you must step up onto the polished slab and walk around to get to the other side of the bed. The design is just ridiculous – a kind of “style” over function -- that not only made accessing the bed risky, it also took up precious floor space. There is a narrow couch at the foot of the concrete slab and that’s the only place to put suitcases. The steps up to the villa doorway are literally made of cracked rotting wood which are truly hazardous. My wife would not walk on them (see photo). The maid service was abysmal. The first two days, they spent less than five minutes and just made the bed. The following day, a bag of snacks for the minibar was left on the doorstep and nobody even entered the room to make the bed or give us clean towels. The reception desk closes at 6:00 m, so if you need something or have a question after that you are out of luck unless you try to track them down on WhatsApp. The property itself is nice enough with a beautiful ocean view. It is not a good beach for swimming, though we figured out on our own that we could walk to the next hotel down the road, which has an incredible sandy beach with crystal clear water and white powder sand. This hotel could have some potential with proper management and maintenance. While we might return to Koh Kood we would not consider staying in this hotel again. It was hard to decide between 2 stars or 3 stars but I gave it a 3 because of the lovely setting.

Nous avons passé 6 nuits dans cette établissement à la très belle décoration tendance. Notre bungalow (A6) se situait en front de mer avec un lit extérieur pour faire la sieste, un vrai bonheur, surtout quand on admirait le lever du jour sur la mer depuis notre lit. Bref, l’hôtel est très beau et bien situé avec une des plus belle plage de l’île à 5mn à pied. Très bon petit déjeuner et cocktail, personnels gentils, et aussi une clientèle majoritairement asiatique très calme et poli ce qui important pour la tranquillité d’un séjour… Je recommande fortement cette hôtel avec un excellent rapport qualité prix, nous y reviendrons probablement si nous devions revenir à Kho Kood.

This resort exceeded all our expectations, and made our stay on koh kood feel like a dream! Rented a motorcycle from the resort itself, which came in useful to travel around the island, especially in the evening if you don't want to eat at their restaurant every night. Their hospitality was amazing, the breakfast nice and varied, beach front villa and view exquisite, and free activities a good plus. Only little negative is the very small private beach is not as charming as the surrounding ones, but 3 of the most beautiful beaches on the island are just a few minutes walk/ride away (one of them literally 2minutes walk), so don't be discouraged! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Thank you Hideout!
