Indeco Hotels Swamimalai

A very peaceful place to stay at and relax. It brings out the typical village experience away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The rooms are old fashioned and have the typical look and feel of houses from the 70s and 80s period. Of course all modern amenities are also there. With the focus being on the traditional south Indian village experience, the food options are also going to be more traditional and south Indian in nature. As this is some distance away from Swamimalai which us the nearest town, it is more self contained, although there are some small shops nearby. The property is huge and there are a lot of things that we can do within the resort. There is a museum within the premises and has a good collection of antiques. Plus as part of the general decor, old paintings are hung on all the walls. Statues and art work are placed at strategic points throughout the place. Peacocks roam around the property and is a beautiful sight. The resort organizes bullock cart rides, bharathanatyam dance perfor***ces, a tour of the museum and so on. So people who are artistically inclined will definitely enjoy it. The resort is definitely a hidden gem and worth the visit.

For over 18 years, I've relied on fellow travelers' reviews and TripAdvisor to plan my adventures. Their insights have rarely steered me wrong, and Swamimalai Indeco was no exception. Originally booked for December 2023, unforeseen circumstances forced us to postpone. Though I informed the hotel, I hadn't requested a reschedule. In May, while planning another trip, I reached out on a whim, hoping they might accommodate us. To my delight, they did! Bindu, the ***ager, impressed me with her gracious communication. As we neared the property, my two boys, accustomed to luxury hotels like ITC and Taj, buzzed with anticipation. Yet, upon arrival, the unique a**osphere surprised them. "Are we staying in a museum?" one exclaimed. The quick check-in ushered us into our room. Their jaws dropped at the sight of a massive, red mud lotus-shaped bathtub – it truly needed to be seen to be believed. The room itself was a treasure trove, elegantly furnished with pieces steeped in history. Imagine sleeping on a century-old French company bed and using a clothes hanger designed by DMK party founder, C.N. Annadurai! Restored artifacts, each a unique story, adorned the space. Steve Borgia, the hotel's chair*** and a captivating storyteller, personally took us on a guided tour. His passion for storytelling was a refreshing reminder of a fading art form. While the food was good, the Thali, particularly the Sambar and Kuzhambu, was exceptional. Don't miss the pumpset bath – a truly unique experience. The "green" swimming pool added another layer of enjoyment to our stay. Swamimalai Indeco left us deeply satisfied and well-rested. It was an experience unlike any other, a delightful blend of heritage, comfort, and unforgettable moments..

Ambience is amazing and mesmerising. It’s a paradise with divine music, greenery all round, with peacocks and swans. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Activities are enjoyable. The staff are smiling, pleasing, polite and helpful. Museum has very antique collections by a single person. Every item has a story to it. Entrance to Dining restaurant has ***y terracota life size articles and inside antique clocks and Tanjore paintings are awesome. Overall the visit is worth a million. A visit will make you revisit again and again. If given an opportunity make a visit.

We stayed in indeco Swami malai for a function. The place is too good, service with a smile by the staff , good food and excellent heritage ambience , nicely maintained. Keep it up . Will visit again n also recommend to others. The owner takes personal visits to ensure everything is in place.

This is the most extraordinary place I've ever stayed - quite simply a magical experience. The reception is located in a splendid palace which was relocated to this site brick by brick. There is an astounding gallimaufry of eclectic objects assembled and displayed with great taste. My room was palatial!

So ***y things that were there brought back old memories. The food and people were great. The ambience was perfect and very aesthetic. We had an amazing time. It was a very nice and different from ordinary experience. The entire set up was very intelligent.

Excellent antique collection and display. Friendly environment. The ambience was extremely good. Age old structures well maintained and preserved. The idols of GODS decorated in traditional way. The staff were neatly dressed and cheerful.

INDeco@ Swamimalai is an exceptional place to stay, wonderful ambience, beautiful and living with nature!! Waking to the calling of peacocks is a memory I shall cherish for a long time. All the staff at the property at always smiling and ever willing to help. We had a great stay at this place. The whole place is a museum by itself and so well kept by the Owner. The green ambience, superb location, friendly and cheerful staff, fabulous breakfasts, the superb terracotta statues strewn around the property, all make this property beautiful. The room was comfortable and well equipped. All of this made our trip very special.
