Barceló Lanzarote Active Resort

A very large resort a small supermarket but if not all inclusive would be a problem as to getting cabs to the local town could get expensive Night life for kids good but adults cannot even seat outside in the evening s with a drink as pool bar closes at 6 pm Unless you go to the payable restaurants and champs sports bar not very good if paid for all inclusive We was in block 7 but as there are still steps to the lift if getting on a bit would be a problem as me and my wife 70 and 65 years Overall as we had our son his wife and 3 small grandchildren but they 4 minutes walk away why we wasn’t put nearer each other one would never know but we did not book at the same time they were near the reception and dinning room but did have a few cockroaches in there room trying to use the microwave Overall good resort large pools

Pros- lovely room, lovely view (we booked sea view) every single staff member amazing, lovely food different every day, 25 min to walk in to town if you wanted something different. Cons - shower could have been a bit better kind of like dripped out but for me that was it. I’ve been on a few holidays and I have to say has been the only one where I’ve said I’d definitely come back. Absolutely love the place

Beds comfy. Rooms clean. Pools ice cold and food is just as cold. Didn’t have one hot or even warm meal. Too cold and windy for kids. Hotel nice, drinks nice. Gym good. Depends what you’re after. If it’s food and something for the kids I wouldn’t recommend

We returned from this hotel, after a week, yesterday. We hired a car at the airport and to be honest, if you’re staying here, you need one! There is nothing, close by apart from the hotel. The resort of Teguise is probably a forty minute walk but you can get a bus from outside the hotel. The room was lovely, recently renovated with loads of space, a large balcony too and we had paid for a sea view. We also had a fabulous view of the power station with smoke coming out of the chimneys …. not sure how healthy that is! The cleaning was hit and miss, you couldn’t walk barefoot on the floor because it definitely wasn’t cleaned properly. It was all a bit of a rush job, make the bed, change the towels , that’s it. We were half board and the food was the worst bit. Unless you got to the restaurant for 6.30 ish you ended up queuing for a table, not what you want on holiday. The food was worryingly cool and we avoided meat for safety reasons. Salad was very basic and the food in general wasn’t that great. Breakfast was better but stuff like bacon and sausages looked a bit grim, we had mainly dry stuff and fruit. Even the yogurt was in big bowls, uncovered with people breathing over it and dipping in… yum The island of Lanzarote has improved so much since our last visit, ten years ago , we drove all over and it’s so beautiful and unspoiled. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday but I think we will rent an apartment next time.

Booked & stayed for 9 nights in Late January, very pleased all round. Food was plentiful, plates were hot, selection was marvellous, nothing to complain about. Reception Staff were brilliant, cleaning Lady was full of personality, bar staff were good. Location was perfect one Euro to get into Town on the bus or four Euros in taxi and all were similar. Great walk along the promenade to Costa Teguise Town 50 metre pool was well worth the 3 Euro charge, lots of activity in the day, evening entertainment did show some great Artists, especially the 3 singers. All in All I cannot wait to return. 5++++++++++++++++

This is a fabulous hotel the rooms are nice comfortable and well cleaned . The was really good always something to eat and very clean . Pool area was and clean loads of beds no rushing out to get the in the morning staff can't do enough for you nothing to much of an issue. Champs bar is nice food and cheap enough aswell to slight down sides the amount of stairs to get to alot of the rooms and it's in the middle of nowhere saying that a taxi is under €4 all in all we had a great stay

Room okay, food okay , local drinks not very good , no where to walk too for a drink or a change ,isolated , looking over oil refinery as well ,ok for families not for couples , entertainment shocking finished at 9-45 no music nothing, mostly animation team . Would never go back

Booked a family room and stayed over the road from main reception, the room was huge and the beds were super comfy, only downside was our balcony was near large manhole that was partially covered we couldn't sit out because of the flies, We were all inclusive and the food was superb and there were loads of choices even for the fussiest eaters, the pool was lovely and soon filled with kids having a good time, my son (10) soon made friends and was never of the astroturf pitch, evening entertainment was fine but if you weren't down early you wouldn't get a seat indoors, not one for sitting in there were plenty of chairs outside. All in all a brilliant break only sorry I didn't book 2 weeks ,, thankyou barcelo lanzarote

We had really pleasant stay in this hotel. Food was amazing, location is awesome, staff really friendly. Great holiday spot.
