My third Soho Boutique hotel in Spain - stayed for for days. Second floor balcony suite facing the Main Street is astoundingly noisy! There was building, rubbish collections, street sweepers and partying Spaniards galore. The city does not move for about two hours between 6.00am & 8.00am - busy the rest of the time. But I loved it! As a solo traveller, I was between two metro stations, had more food choices within 50m than many cities have in miles! The number of live theaters, shopping precincts and multinational cuisine choices is astounding. I kept my window open to soak the noise and atmosphere for the first two days. With the shutters, double glazed doors and curtains drawn - I heard nothing from the street. The staff are fabulous. They are prompt, friendly and speak English better than most Australians🤣. The suites at Congresso are well positioned for Reina Sofia, galleries, Prado and gardens. But Opera is on opposite side of Madrid and access to multicultural vibrance.
