Bellevue San Lorenzo (Adults Only)

Bellevue San Lorenzo remains a superb hotel, a world best on every level, this was our fourth visit, and the magic remains. We will return as soon as life permits. Yes, the location is second to none and the hotel’s facilities and rooms are first class, but the key input is the staff guided by the hands-on management of the owner who has guided its progress and generously developed it these past 30 years with thoughtful design aiding it to sit happily in its surroundings. All the staff are well trained and go above and beyond to epitomize this friendly efficient hotel to make it world class, there really is no better place in this relaxing environment on the lake side or indeed dare I say Italy and beyond. The menu is artistically and creatively produced with a delight as each course arrives to your table, breakfast is buffet style and covers every possible requirement, from cereals, bacon and eggs to cold meat and fruit, it’s all there. We have traveled and lived in many countries; this hotel is consistently the best.

My wife and I and two friends stayed here for 10 nights. The hotel is situated just outside of the centre of Malcesine. To walk into town you have to walk from the hotel down quite a slope to the busy road to find the path down to the lakeside path.The walk into Malcesine takes about 10 minutes. You could also get the Tourist bus that stops not far from the hotel. Walking back is a bit of a hike but again you can get the bus or jump a taxi which cost about 10 euros and that will drop you almost to the door of the hotel. Firstly I must say how friendly the hotel staff are. Especially Antonio, Giuseppe and the young chap in the bar who's name I can't spell. The manager of the hotel seemed a bit of a grump at first but I don't think his English is very good and my Italian is very basic. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds with a swimming pool overlooking the Lake.The hotel rooms are clean and bright we had a lake view, but as usual in Italy they lacked tea and coffee making facilties. The food in the restaurant was very good. My wife was given a vegetarian menu as requested. Considering we stayed 10 nights there was plenty of choice. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of meats, fruit and bacon and egg if required. The hotel was fairly quiet of a night with people just chatting in the bar although we did have a lot of noise one Saturday night from another bar/hotel below us but their music ,(if you can call it that) stopped thumping about 12 pm. All in all an excellent hotel well worth staying at.

Beautiful hotel with great view of the lake especially from the pool area. Very friendly and helpful staff. BUT, make sure you contact them and specify that you want to stay in one of the two main buildings. We assumed that our room with balcony would be there, but instead they put us in a smaller building that was more like a 3-star (2-star bedding) and an inferior view. We were told the prices are the same, and we should have told them we wanted to be in the main hotel buildings.

We really liked the property for its fantastic staff and rustic charm. The hotel is a 20 minute walk into the town but with a few hills. Sadly the hotel is located in the hills above a restaurant/bar that played music very loudly until 12 midnight. Currently you cannot have the AC in Italy lower than 25C or 77F by law and so the room was very warm. We slept the first night with the doors open but couldn’t do this on the second night due to the noise. The Wi-Fi is absolutely the worst I have ever experienced. I cannot understand why it is so bad. The decoration and appearance of the hotel is lovely however they have some random sculpture pieces that really do not fit with the character. The pool is incredible but is not heated whatsoever. Overall we would stay here again but there are a few things people should be aware of.

Excellent hotel in a beautiful location, with magnificent views of the lake from everywhere. Lovely 20 minute walk into the centre of Malsecine. We found B&B to be the better option.

Absolutely wonderful stay! Beautiful hotel with fantastic staff. Walkable to Malcesine, gorgeous views of Lake Garda and delicious restaurant. The grounds are lovely.

This is probably the best place we’ve stayed in, totally worth the price. Staff is amazingly friendly, the hotel and rooms are very clean and beautiful. Breakfast is good and the dinner was also very tasty. And of course, the view to the lake is breathtaking! Can’t think of anything that could have been better here.

This hotel is pure heaven. The staff are wonderful and friendly. The hotel is spotless. Breakfast and Dinner were amazing. The only thing I would suggest is that there are more and healthy options at lunch time. The views are to die for. If we were to return to Lake Garda we would return. Also the spa is wonderful too.
