"A wonderful, quiet location with plenty of free parking and an extremely warm welcome,The hotel could do with a little tender care, as parts of it were disintegrating and in poor repair. The window frames, which are unfortunately rotting away, along with slipped, broken roof tiles due to lack of maintenance. We were a little disappointed that we could not order our tasty evening Indian meal from the on-site restaurant to eat in our room after a long day out and about, and instead had to eat in the poorly lit restaurant, so much so that I could not read the menu with the tiny writing and poor design colors. I would not stay again, as what was described as a standard double room on the second floor was in a converted half-eve loft with no view out of the roof windows. The ensuite was adequate, with a good shower; towels, soap and body wash were included, though only one pair of slippers. Breakfast is not included in the price of the room, which, in my opinion, was too expensive for what it is."

"Olga A place that inspires!!! I spent one night here in June with my family (my daughter is 17, my mother is 67), and I must say that one day wasn't enough for us to enjoy this unforgettable place. It's a truly beautiful, historic place where you can immerse yourself in the 1800s. Everything was perfect: the location, the house itself, the cleanliness of the room, the softness of the mattresses and pillows, the breakfast, and the hospitality of Svetlana, who manages the house. You simply have to come here, and you won't want to leave. The only slight drawback is the cool water in the shower (although it did invigorate me a bit in the morning). I highly recommend the Nightingale Suite at Lea Hurst for a relaxing stay and a visit!!!!"
