The first stop on our tour of northern Italy was Milan. We had booked a double room for one night from 16.7 to 17.7.22 at the Hotel Palazzo Porta Romana via an online booking platform. The reception by the staff was friendly. They provided us with all the information about their house and Milan. The room was already ready to move into. This was positive It is recommended to book a parking space. This costs 25 euros per night. It is a hotel owned garage. When we entered the room, we were shocked. Absolutely not worthy of 4 stars. Old furniture, stains on the ceilings and walls, calcified fittings, shower curtain with stains. Damaged doors. I actually complain in such situations. However, since we only booked one night and didn't want to waste too much time and discussion, we left it alone and postponed it until check-out. This may also be due to the fact that we booked via ***********. Because there are nicer rooms. The breakfast was very good. Everything you could wish for was available. Enough space, fresh products etc. The location of the hotel is also good. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the cathedral. At check out we made our complaint and showed photos. The receptionist reacted very well and cancelled the cost of the parking and apologised. We can NOT RECOMMEND the Palazzo Porta Romana. We felt like second class guests. This is not possible just because you booked through an online portal.
