BQ Alcudia Sun Village

I wasn’t sure what to expect with the mixed reviews but this place is fine. The pirate ship pool area is excellent, couldn’t get my kids out of it, the other 2 pools are very good too. Plenty of little parks for the kids around the complex. The restaurant was clean and the staff were attentive. The food we had was of good quality and we were never left hungry although I would say there wasn’t a great amount of choice for vegetarians, really only one option each meal. The only let down was the room, it was a bit dated and basic and the smell was awful, it alternated between wet dog/damp (presumably from the air conditioning) and sewage. We didn’t ask to be moved as the sewage smell was evident around most of the apar**ents so I doubt it would have gotten any better and we really only slept in there. On the plus side the room was very clean and the shower was powerful. I’d stay here again as the pool really kept the kids entertained but I’d try and book an upgraded room.

Lovely hotel, we came with our two children 5 & 7 for 5 nights, they loved it. The pools are perfect for young children, and it’s only a short walk down to the beach where there’s plenty of shops and bars. We booked self catering, you can upgrade at reception however we bought food from the snack bar and didn’t rate it enough to do so, but used the bar often which is reasonably priced. There’s plenty of good bars and restaurants around the area, however the restaurant food on site looked good and we probably would have booked all inclusive if we’d been staying longer. The whole site is spacious and kept very clean and tidy, the staff are brilliant. The entertainment starts quite late for young children but they enjoyed it, especially the magic show! Overall a great holiday, the hotel’s beautiful and fairly quiet, very family friendly. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apar**ent, it had a double bedroom then a couch and pull out bed, all very comfortable. Mosquitoes in the whole area were relentless though, for me anyway, (the rest of my family hardly had a bite between them), so come prepared incase!

An amazing family hotel - there are so many attractions for children that it's hard to count - including face painting and pony ride, amazing swimming pool for kids etc. Delicious, varied food (B&B in our case). We chose a 1-bedroom apar**ent and it was an excellent choice: lots of space, terrace, kitchenette, fridge, TV, large bathroom. 5-star service, especially at the reception.They were always there to help 24/7. We needed extra sheets - no problem, we needed a thermometer to check our daughter's temperature - no problem. We needed advice - no problem. The last day of our stay and check-out until 12AM they offered us to stay until our transfer to the airport arrives at 5:45PM - we could spend more time on the beach. WE REALLY FELT THAT THE SERVICE WAS THERE FOR US - huge respect. Beautiful beach and restaurants just around the corner. People complain about mosquitoes, but come on... anyone who has already been to Majorca knows that mosquitoes are everywhere there, in every hotel, on every playground, and even on the beach. Based on our previous experience in Majorca, the first thing we did was plug in mosquito repellent into the wall ( cost a little fortune in stores there, so take it with you) and kids version in spray for little one when go out. Thank you very much for everything. It was unforgettable experience. Muchas gracias por unas maravillosas vacaciones :)

This was the first holiday abroad for my Granddaughters and it was everything we wanted for them. The facilities were brilliant. Pools, food, entertainment were all excellent and the staff were amazing. Great memories were mad at this resort, and we couldn't have asked for more. I would definitely go back.

Lovely hotel with a great location. Staff are polite, helpful and friendly. We only stayed 5 nights but the cleaner's came in every day. It's a family or couples type of hotel and entertainment is on throughout the day and evening. I'd definitely stay here again.

On arrival we were upgraded to a 1 bedroom apar**ent, Id like to see the room we were going to have before because it was small and dirty around the edges. The food was very much low quality canteen food, when we asked to downgrade from all inclusive to bed and breakfast the hotel declined, we ended up eating out every night. The food is the same every night, chips, nuggets, pasta and sauce and then some type of meat. The area is full of mosquitoes, to be expected but it was a nigh**are! The hotel itself is grubby, you cant have cocktails during the day only spirits. Not one member of staff greeted us and not once did a waiter have a conversation with us, very dismissive maybe because the lack of english spoken staff. The only thing that saved this holiday was the pool area which our boy loved. Personally in comparison to all inclusive hotels in other parts of the world this is very low standard and a 2star max.

Just returned from a week away at BQ. Pros: lovely village setup, pool area is great, staff work very hard, we were ground floor and the little terrace area was lovely Cons: rooms are very small, rooms are very tired and need overhauling, they’re really dated. Very tiny drying rack, not even big enough for a towel. This deserves its own section - Mosquitoes, we’ve never experienced anything like it. There’s a lot of stagnant water in the area, which is obviously the reason why they’re so prevalent. My eldest son probably had about 100 bites throughout the week. On Our last evening my husband was bitten about 40 times in a space of about 4/5 minutes. So we gave up and went inside. We wouldnt return to the area because of the mossies. Can’t comment on the food/drink as we were self catering and didn’t use the hotel facilities at all.

Hotel's in nice location in walk distance to the beach. Stuff is very friendly, except of receptionists. Food is delicious and various, everyone will find something for themselves. Definitely hotel for families with small children.

Just came back. Family of 8, 4 children and 4 adults. First of all the good points: the 3 pools are great including the kids splash zone. They are amazing. All inclusive food and facilities worthy of a 5 star hotel, lots of choice, good quality and tasty. Cocktails are fantastic and strong! Rooms are good and very clean. The staff work very hard and are polite. Entertainment was very good for all ages. The location of the hotel is just a 5 mins walk to a beautiful beach and restaurants but not many bars or nightlife near by. Small resort catered towards families. Now the main bad point! Mosquitos! And I don't mean the odd bite. I've never been bit in my travels but did at this hotel. Most of us got bit alot! And we took the strongest possible spray. The rest of my family including one adult got bit that much her whole leg swelled up and had to go to doctors for antibiotics. I don't think any precautions can stop the Mosquito problem it's just due to the location.
