"We traveled to Croatia—a country we love and return to every year. But this time, we made the mistake of booking this hotel. And that mistake cost us more than just money—it ruined the beginning of our holiday, forced us to leave early, and left us feeling deceived. Here's what we were met with: The elevator didn’t work. At first, the staff said it was working. But when we asked them to try it themselves—nothing happened. Then a janitor was called, who also insisted it worked... until someone asked: “But does it open?” That’s when the truth finally came out: No, it doesn’t actually work. It was as if nobody wanted to take responsibility, and instead they gaslighted both us and each other. They seemed to believe that if they say something works, tastes good, or looks fine—we’re supposed to accept that, even when the reality clearly says otherwise. No air conditioning in the room. We arrived in the middle of a heatwave with two kids, and the AC was completely non-functional. When we brought it up, the response was: “It worked yesterday.” As if that somehow made the unbearable heat more tolerable today? We sat for a long time in the stifling room, sweating, waiting for someone to come fix it—but no solution ever came. Again, the same pattern: avoiding responsibility instead of solving the problem. Their “solution”? We could move to another room for one night, and then move back the next day. This would have meant repacking and relocating twice during a five-day stay, while still not knowing if the issue would come back. It wasn’t a solution—it was a way of pushing the problem forward and hoping we’d settle. No lighting in the bathroom. The bathroom was pitch dark. Their excuse? You guessed it: “It worked yesterday.” We had to use a phone flashlight so our daughter could use the toilet in the dark. The food was awful. We ordered pasta bolognese and “pasta with meat”—both were overcooked, tasted old, and felt like they had been frozen for days. Genuinely unappetizing and impossible to eat. A disgusting smell in the room. Every time we opened the door, we were met by a mix of trash and old fish. Unbearable. The building was falling apart. Everywhere we looked: rusty AC units hanging from each room, cracked walls, rusty railings, decaying facades. Even the hotel’s star rating sign was covered in rust—a sad symbol of the complete lack of care and maintenance. The beaches nearby were among the worst we’ve seen in Croatia. We tried to rebook Due to wildfires in the south, we just wanted to stay for two nights and move on. The hotel claimed ******* doesn’t allow refunds. ******* told us the hotel could refund if they wanted. Guess who “couldn’t do anything”? We gave up Not after several days—but after just a few hours. We had time to check in, suffer through one dreadful meal, go through all the problems—and watch our children get more and more tired, sweaty, and uncomfortable, with nowhere to rest. Family Hotel Pagus - All Inclusive

"On reading the reviews for this hotel we were dreading our holiday, but the hotel has been great, with a large variety of food on offer (eg variety of fish, meats and vegetarian options), which is changed daily (see photos), the room we had was a standard room with a balcony, might be idea to ask for a sea view, this was a good size, as was the bed which was comfortable, there are no English TV programmes, the hairdryer is fixed in bathroom, so save on luggage; cleaners weren’t brilliant, changed the towels and quick make of the bed. Maria on reception is excellent, she sorted out our transport from the airport (via a call prior to arrival) and gave accurate details of useful buses to take us back, if you do come here make sure you fly in to Zadar airport (we flew into Split at a cost of €150 one way). The location was good for us, we wanted to chill and go for walks and the area is very picturesque, especially by the marina and beaches are shale but lovely clear water. The all inclusive drinks are mainly their own brand and not cocktails as we know them, however the waiters and cooks work hard and are pleasant. I would say in early October it is ideal for people after a chilled and relaxing time, with children mainly around 3-10 year old. Nightlife is reduced at this time which suited us, but not for 20 plus wanting more activity. Internet is variable in bedrooms but very good in restaurant and reception areas. We had a lovely relaxing break, the pool was decent (changing rooms not great) and there were lots of spare sun beds. The weather was mainly sunny, around 18-20 degrees C. A lot of the local attractions closed at this time in Pag but we visited the salt museum and Novelja by bus, Antonio tours (local bus), who were very friendly and helpful"

"Бесконечная доброта, гибкость – просто все было идеально. Я могу только порекомендовать это, и мы обязательно вернемся. Наша комната была простая, но комфортная, с большой ванной и двумя туалетами. В день нашего прибытия нам разрешили проверить несколько часов раньше без дополнительного сбора. Неограниченный бассейн - это мечта; всего несколько шагов ведут от бассейна к пляжу, где вода так кристаллически чиста –, в отличие от всего, что мы когда-либо видели раньше. С завтраком вкусный с огромным выбором. Они обращают внимание на все детали, и ничего не происходит даже в последнюю минуту. В день вылета они предложили нам сделать бутерброды для дороги, и даже после того, как мы проверили, мы были рады остаться у бассейна до вечера. Нам были предоставлены солнечные кровати, зонтики и полотенца, как и в другие дни. Нам было разрешено использовать ванные комнаты и душ рядом с бассейном, и они даже предложили нам свежие полотенца для душа, прежде чем мы попали на дорогу в тот вечер. Добросердечность и вежливость, которые мы испытывали от владельцев и всех сотрудников, к сожалению, являются чем-то редкостью в эти дни. Мы так рады, что нашли отель Плажа. Почти все сотрудники отеля говорят по-английски и по-немецки. Городской центр Пэг находится всего лишь 15-minute гуляя, где рестораны и бары отлично, с профессиональными, вежливыми и очень дружественными официантами. Что касается цен, то это был приятный сюрприз – Почти все дешевле, чем было в Трогире два года назад.
