Hotel Mirador Papagayo by LIVVO

Was advertised this hotel by jet2 being a family fun holiday, the pictures are very misleading, the place is very ran down, very dirty, the staff at reception are very rude and very threatening, soon as you land you become very unwelcome, first she advises they need to know what time you’re going to be eating due to Covid. I could understand that 2 years ago.. I travelled through Covid and still didn’t have that experience, secondly the food is cold, and very poor, the snack bar isn’t even to feed everyone and the food is left out all day, the bread in the main restaurant is never touched or covered up at all, very dirty place, my fridge was black, and didn’t work, the beds are singles so don’t expect a double bed, I will upload pictures to show what was advertised and the state of the place, I paid £1700 to come here for 6 nights was biggest waste of money for me & my 4 year old daughter, please avoid at all costs. The bar next to the kids please avoid, my daughters fruit was mouldy, Mould in the room around light switches, Please avoid this hotel. Since I wrote this they have replaced the fridge however it still does not work. Unfortunately I am unsure how this place has high reviews when it as disgusting

This was our second visit to the hotel & probably even better. Welcomed back upon arrival. Had requested the same room as last year, got one next door. Thank you! The hotel location is perfect for us and we love the view from the sea view suite. So relaxing & peaceful listening to the sea. Everywhere is incredibly clean. All staff are very friendly & hardworking. When we needed help when I was unwell the service was fast & efficient & was very much appreciated thank you. Always got sun beds by the pool. We went all inclusive but ate out a few times as that is our preference. The food choice was great & always found something to eat. The reviews vary so much but it is a buffet & not an al a carte restaurant! The hotel provides excellent facilities for value for money. Again friendly staff & good service. We decided to use the spa this time & what a hidden gem! Had the whole place to ourselves for a couple of hours. What a treat & so relaxing. A fabulous 8 night stay & look forward to seeing you again in September.

Back again for our 16th year at the Mirador we received a lovely warm welcome from all staff that knew us we just love this hotel many thanks to Marjolein for our request for specific room and area sorry could not thank you personally as you were on holiday will e mail you to arrange room and area that we like when we book to come back towards end off summer the rooms are lovely and cleaned every day towels changed on request fridge kettle large tv in room word off caution the shower in bathroom is quite powerful takes a bit off getting used too pool area hosed down early in morning along with pools maintenance staff do an excellant job regards this Restaurant well run wait to be seated shown to table these are quickly cleaned and set up again food good choice although some people made comments about this being a poor choice and food not warm enough we experianced this a few times mainly chips others were fine we did not go hungry entertainment was a hit or miss for us Afro Soul Flamenco Dancers good also a singer sorry forgot her name we had a lovely holiday weather was a let down mixed Lena (Hotel Manager ) many thanks for you sympathy and comforting words at this sad time and always checking on me that I was coping ok Javier hotel porter enjoy your retirement after all the years at hotel will miss you We will be back before end of year look forward to seeing you all Isabelle Anne McCallum and Kathleen Ferguson

This was our second stay at the Mirador and was as enjoyable as the first. We booked what our travel company described as a "junior suite" but I believe the Mirador lists as a superior sea view, the room was spacious clean and well equipped with stunning sea views. The room came with robes, slippers, ironing board and steam iron, coffee machine, kettle, safe, fridge, two flat screen TV's one in the bedroom area and one in the lounge area, a walk in wardrobe and of course air con. The balcony had two sun loungers and a table and two chairs. If your looking for a quiet relaxed hotel in a lovely location look no further, but if you want numerous bars selling two Euro pints within a few minutes walking distance then the hotels in this area are not for you. The staff at the Mirador were without exception friendly and very helpful, rooms were cleaned daily and the hotel itself was very clean. There have been complaints on trip advisor about the food at this hotel, we have never had any problem with the food. My partner stayed at one of the other 4 star hotels in Playa Blanca four weeks prior to our visit to the Mirador and rated the Mirador food as better ! Just one comment the choice of only frankfurters and cocktail sausages doesn't appeal to the British pallet, more English sausages and black pudding please. Would we return again ? we have already booked our next stay !

This was my first trip aboard as a solo parent, the hotel felt safe which is what I wanted. The staff are so friendly and couldn’t do more for you, the receptionists, bar staff and restaurant staff were brilliant. We went half board The food was a bit hit and miss but we are vegetarian so it is always expected so this is why we did not go all inclusive, there was a selection of different foods and was good enough for us. The hotel was clean and so was our room, we booked a sea view double room and loved it, the sea view is incredible and worth the extra. The pool was perfect my daughter loved it, there is a couple of pools but we used the main pool. My daughter is 10 and was still able to enjoy the mini club and mini disco that happens everyday. The shows were really good in my opinion and we enjoyed these pretty much every evening. I did go to the spa which was 20 euros, it was worth the money but the water in the jacuzzi room was a bit cold for my liking other than that it was good. The location of the hotel is quiet but you can get pretty much everywhere you want to by bus or taxi, we went to the Teguise markets, Aqualava and to the many nearby beaches, we also took the ferry to furteventura. Overall a fab holiday and we thoroughly enjoyed it would definitely recommend this hotel and would come back again.

Stayed here for 9 nights in early May, we had a sea view junior suite with fantastic views overlooking Papagayo bay and beyond, The suite was spacious with excellent air-con and a great walk-in wardrobe. The hotel is very clean throughout and the staff were on the whole helpful and friendly. The upstairs bar and outside seating area were first-class with decent branded drinks and very attentive bar staff. As per previous reviews the food was hit and miss, the best meal of the day was breakfast with plenty of choices for all and served fresh and hot, unfortunately the evening meal on some nights was the opposite with most of the supposed hot dishes lukewarm. I would definitely avoid the food on offer in the snack bar as when we tried it out the chips, hot dogs and burgers were cold and inedible. If management were to address these issues we would definitely consider a return visit

The Hotel was very nice . Our room was ok but would have liked to have been in the main part of the hotel. Cleaning was very good . Staff were very helpful and polite . Drinks were good quality and not too expensive . Bar staff were extremely helpful polite at all times . The hotel was spotless . Entertainment was on the whole very good. A decent walk along the coastal path to the Marina Food was ok but not very hot The hotel facilities were very good . Courtesy bus excellent service to the beach and playa Blanca resort

Stayed for 9 nights in May. We upgraded to a room with sea view room and it was lovely views were fantastic. We liked the location and walk into marina , Flamingo beach etc. It was nice to sit on the terrace and have a sundowner. . The entertainment was rubbish in our opinion. The snack bar was absolutely awful. It really lets the hotel dow, the food was lukewarm at best and never covered over. The lady working there was rude, lots of people complaining about her..

Half way through a 14 night stay. Perfectly comfortable hotel. We have opted for Junior Suite Sea View. Own terrace with sunbeds, very quiet hotel front (definitely worth it) Suite whilst possibly dated extremely comfortable and spacious. In fact, best room space we have experienced with an actual walk in wardrobe with loads of hanging space and shelves and full length mirror. Privelage Lounge is ok - nothing spectacular. Soft drinks, beer, wine, coffee and snacks. Must say the food has exceeded expectations. Had read mixed reviews. No complaints. Piping hot soup / porridge etc and hot plates. Quality has been really decent. Staff all fantastic and no issues at all clearing tables for prompt service. They work extremely hard. Evening shows have also exceeded expectations for price we paid for 2 weeks All Inclusive. We have paid double on other hotels, some of which haven’t justified the price. Looking to another week of relaxation. Would definitely return.
