Mariela Hotel Apartments

This was our first trip to Cyprus, we found the accommodation was very good although possibly needed a little bit of updating, the rooms were cleaned everyday and beds and towels changed every 2 days, the pool area was lovely with plenty of sunbeds, Pambos and Eleni were friendly and really helpful, we would return to this lovely hotel

Just returned from an enjoyable two weeks stay. Was allocated a one bedroom apartment with pool view which had sun on balcony from lunchtime until evening which was exactly what we had requested. Rooms are quite large with decent bedroom and sofa bed in living room. Kitchen facilities are basic but just what you normally find in Greece, two cooking rings, small oven, kettle and toaster. Bit sparse in the cutlery department but we managed. Cleaners do an amazing job with apartment cleaned every day, towels changed every other day and bedding changed twice a week. Apartments are near to a large supermarket and plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. There is a bakery across the road with great choice of breads, pastries and cakes and they also do great hot takeaway food at very reasonable prices and we have several good meals from there. Bar prices on site are reasonable and they also serve snacks. As we had late pick-up we were able to keep our room on until 7.00pm for a reasonable cost of €20. All in all a very enjoyable and relaxing stay and we would definitely recommend. We hope to return soon.

Lovely hotel. It is basic but clean and good value for money. I had a large one bedroom apartment with balcony overlooking the pool. Staff are friendly and helpful. I had a late flight home and was able to keep my room all day for a very reasonable fee. Supermarket and a great bakery nearby and a short walk to town with lovely restaurants, bars and shops. Good bus service to Latchi, Coral Bay and Paphos. Unfortunately the beach bar is closed this year and no sunbeds but there's a nice beach at Latchi with amenities. Special thanks to Pambos and Eleni for their kindness when I wasn't feeling well.

Family run friendly hotel. The apartment was large and clean with a balcony and comfortable king size bed. The sheets and towels were changed every two days. We stayed Bed and breakfast. Buffet breakfast with a good choice of basic hot and cold food, filter coffee, many different teas. There was a pool side bar for snacks and drinks. 5 mins walk to the restaurants in Polis Centre. 10 mins by taxi 10 euros to Latchi harbour for many seafront restaurants. Best meals we had in Polis were at the Herb Garden restaurant.

These are a well run apartments that are in a convenient location for buses, restaurants, beach and a very good supermarket. The family that run this are so friendly and helpful and great for solo travellers. It is not a 5 star hotel but apartments are kept clean and I got the best sleep there that I have had for months. The room had everything I needed and I had a lovely pool view. Other guests are friendly and prices in the bar are very reasonable. The pool is kept spotless and Pambos takes great pride in this. I will be back in October as it is a lovely part of Cyprus and I love these traditional apartments

I need to be honest with this review yes we booked last minute not a lot to choice when you want 3 separate rooms traveling as friends. Most of the reviews were good so we were guided by that. We arrived late so showed to our rooms very basic and a disappointed. The 1st night did not go well the beds are rock hard I did not sleep at all as I have a bad back the beds are old and mattress seems to have been there for years. My friends found them very hard also. I asked the owner if they had a mattress topper but he said no did not seem to understand my complaint. I asked the cleaner to make up the sofa bed which was a bit softer but also shabby and as old as the beds so I spent the rest of the week sleeping in the lounge area of the apartment on the sofa bed also uncomfortable. After speaking to other holiday makers they said the same and another couple did the same as me and slept on the old sofa beds. As we could not keep one of our rooms on our final day we were told to use the shower room next to the pool. This really needs to be looked at it’s not safe and certainly not suitable from a privacy view the door into it is broken so when getting changed someone could open the door the entrance into the shower is tiled using very slippery tiles an accident waiting to happen. On the plus side the cleaners did a good job and sheets changed regularly although on arrival my friend’s cutlery was dirty and shower area looked like a good bleach was needed. We did enjoy our holiday but would not return to this accommodation much to dated and beds need replaced. Jet2 need to do an inspection of this property and take onboard the issues customers are raising.

The Mariela is the most friendly home from home hotel you could ever wish for. Pambos and Eleni are the most wonderful and kind hosts. Polis is a fantastic location for a relaxing with a little bit of adventure thrown in for those who wish to explore the most beautiful surrounding area.

First time in Cyprus - arrived at this hotel towards the latter half of September, and absolutely loved it. We stayed in a one bed apartment which was surprisingly spacious. Yes it was a little dated but exceptionally clean - bedding and towels changed every couple of days and the room cleaned every day. The location was amazing, everything on your doorstep . Also 2 pools so plenty of sun beds for all. The owner Pambos was lovely always extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. All in all a good value hotel - so glad we chose this for our stay.

Another wonderful time staying with Pambos and Eleni at the Mariella Hotel in Polis. We were a little earlier this year and delighted to find that business had picked up so well after the post-Covid lull, and it was wonderful to meet up with so many regulars who had been even more often than us (this was only our seventh time!) and to meet first-timers enjoying themselves. It was an especially hot time, the last days of September, so the sun-beds and pools were busy during the day and we were once again delighted that the Mariella attracts so many nice people who know how to behave, keeping the bar area busy of an evening without any needless music to disturb everyone else (moms with children seemed especially appreciative of this). We were ‘at home’ in the B block, and, as always, enjoyed having rapid hot water in the shower, and a regular supply of filtered drinking water in the kitchenette—a luxury not found in most four and five star hotels that want to make a profit selling you bottled water! Given how hot it was, it was great to have clean sheets and pillow-cases every other day along with fresh bath- and hand-towels. We tend to be late risers, so sometimes got in the way of the cleaners who wanted to sweep and mop the floors every morning but they kindly laughed off our lazy habits. Polis is one of the last low-key places that we know of for a relaxing break near a beach (our favorite will always be the ‘campsite’ which is less hectic that the Latzi area) and with so many good places to eat in the evening when the sun goes down. There are more expensive places to stay, but the Mariella remains the best deal in town. Our only complaint is that we couldn’t stay longer, but will be back as soon as we can.
