Insotel Punta Prima Prestige Suites & Spa

The hotel promotes itself as 5 stars but I wouldn’t class it as this. The rooms were good and spacious, no air con as centrally controlled but that was ok as wasn’t warm enough in our room to warrant it. We didn’t have kids and the hotel definitely is focussed on children. The food wasn’t the best and breakfast was usually cold. Check in took ages and as we were delayed, didn’t get checked in until midnight so nothing was open. Entertainment was good but once the show ends at 10pm, nothing else to do. There are a few restaurants in walking distance to the hotel, which were nice. Couldn’t have a late check out as the hotel apparently was fully booked but I could book to stay that night. A plus was that we could keep our AI wristband on until we got picked up. But the showers in the reception were nice & well maintained. The top pool was where we spent most of our time and was a clean nice area and this pool bar/restaurant was nice at lunchtime. Also a bonus of not many kids around it as they were at the more kid focussed pools. Short taxi ride into Mahón cost about €15. I wouldn’t stay here again as nice as the room was but that was due to the sheer amount of children. The food was just meh. You’ll definitely hit your steps as everything is uphill.

A lovely 5* hotel in a fantastic location. All the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The suites have recently been refurbished and updated are very well presented all in a charming peaceful setting overlooking the stunning turquoise and blue Mediterranean.

Beautiful sea view prestige suite very impressive My only complaint would be the miserable waitresses at breakfast and dinner kind of spoilt a perfect resort Receptionist was brilliant and very helpful

We just returned from a lovely, relaxed 10-day stay in the Prestige area of Insoltel Punta Prima. The accommodation was excellent, and the facilities were great. We explored the island with daily activities outside of the property. It was great to come back to the luxurious pool area. Evenings we would go to the bar where Dorel (the experienced barman / mixologist) was an absolute gentleman. The bar was quiet for our 2 teenagers, but nothing a little more help from management on marketing/ sales could help Dorel to make it more attractive with entertainment, events. We also spent time in the main area with soccer / tennis courts. Particular mention to Patrick and Sebastian (plus the whole entertainment team) for their amazing amount of energy conducting "champions league" event at 11pm at night after they had been on stage before hand. They played as the hotel football against a qualifying guests team. it was a fabulous, energetic night with mascots and cheerleaders. Great fun. All in all, a lovely, memorable stay in the prestige area of the hotel, but i have reduced to a 4 star review here based on a few reasons which I hope helps management going forward: - 1) entertainment in the prestige bar area, and - 2) the food prices at the pool bar area are very high. (€15 for a ham cheese sandwich and €7 for a small cappuccino, €19 for caprice salad). A little on the high side, - 3) and €71 pp for buffet tex mex (too much for family of 4 @€284 total for a buffet meal). Thank you - and once again to Dorel for his lovely manner.

First off this is a lovely hotel well situated and love the apar**ent and staff here do an amazing job they work hard and can’t fault them . Myself and my husband first came here as a couple had an amazing experience so came back with our adult sons last may and had an amazing time but what a difference 12 months made back for the third time and lasts getting on the TUI coach the rep said punta Prima TUI kids club which we was confused as alway been punta prima prestige and spa a 5 star hotel . It sadly has changed there are nowhere for adults know adults only they have catered for children so the food has gone down hill . If you like burgers and sausages and chips lunch and evening meal then it ok but it was never like this food use to be amazing spoilt for choice now find I’m skipping meal as can’t face it and even been eating out locally when we are all included. There are three pools but like I said no adults bits now so kids are everywhere if I new that it turned into a TUI kid’s club would never of booked I’m not against family’s I have my own but occasionally like to have some quiet time or a meal in peace

We recently stayed at this hotel for a week all inclusive and have been invited by the hotel to add a review. With mixed reviews online I thought I would give an honest opinion of the hotel and break the review down for each area. Accommodation We stayed in a one bedroom superior room and were really impressed with the standard of the room. Both the lounge area and bedroom had air-con and a ceiling fan which was perfect in keeping the room cool. The room had a fridge and small kitchen area but there were no tea or coffee available and apart from one bottle of water when we arrived there was nothing which for a 5 star hotel is poor. We stayed in a 4 star on the island a few months ago and all this was included and regularly refreshed. The balconies for these rooms were a great size. Pool Area We often went to the top pool which was quieter and quite deep. The pool area was clean with plenty of sun loungers but there was not many umbrellas for shade and there were about 5-6 scattered about on the floor which were all broken. Pool Bar As most reviews have mentioned, the self service drinks machines are covered in wasps. I am not talking about the odd one they are covered. This has been raised with the hotel on numerous occasions and apart from the odd incense put out which does nothing there is no attempt to sort out the wasp issue. A quick google search states wasps have a strong sense of smell and dislike certain plants like peppermint, spearmint, basil, eucalyptus, cloves, geranium, thyme, citronella, bay leaves, and lemongrass. They are also repelled by vinegar, cinnamon, coffee grounds, and sliced cucumber. Something the hotel management should consider to help with the issue. Restaurant This is where the hotel really lets itself down. The food was terrible, cold and of really poor quality. As most reviews mention the food is not labelled, the dishes are not replenished quick enough, some of the chicken was not cooked properly and the plates, cutlery and glasses were really dirty. This was mentioned during our visit which the hotel said it would look into but nothing changed. I suspect the reply from the hotel will again say this is a priority but don’t expect it to change as it’s a common complaint. The food did not cater well for children either and you can not get booked into the restaurants. Sadly during our stay there were pigeons in the restaurant area and on the night before we left we saw a rat in the dining area near the pizza station when the restaurant was closing. This in itself is a health and safety issue and there was a load of flies on the food, salad and bread which is unacceptable. TUI staff didn’t seem to be that bothered and after mentioning it when we returned to TUI they were less than interested. If the hotel can get the food quality sorted and cleanliness and sort out the wasp issue it would be a great place to stay.

Superb situation, nice staff, good selection of self service food. Down side in the restaurant a glass of house wine 🍷 175ml 11 euro 500ml water 5.4 euro in supermarket 1.5 ltr water .80 euro. We would probably go again

Returned to this hotel for the second year, lovely hotel and staff. Food is excellent , fantastic chef cooking the food for the second year. Only complaint was the ants both years. Lots to do and see and the room had a pool that was very nice for the family.

Very clean, friendly staff and nice facilities. Good time of year to visit as quiet. Not sure I would want to visit at peak time but this was perfect for us. I can’t fault the prestige suites, the wildlife reserve next to the hotel was dirty and pretty void of wildlife but you can’t have everything.
