BJ Playa Blanca

The staff was kind, breakfast was delicious and plenty of choice. It wasn't very busy. I heard some strange stories from other people but I wasn't bothered by anyone whilst staying. The weather was quite hot and my room didn't have any air conditioning, some nights were difficult for me to sleep. The pool area was amazing and the water was lovely. Everything is quite close, little restaurants and shops walking distance. There are bus stops around and supermarkets. Something for everyone!

So, what the Bible omits to tell us is that this hotel did have room. Mary and Joseph chose the stable instead due to cleanliness and the animals passing wind provided better ventilation and sounded better than the music blasting out total rubbish.

I booked this last minute as a surprise for my hubby I booked through Cheeky Trip I had a price in mind for all include They told me they wasnt the live prices and I wouldn't get one at that price and was put under pressure to book as i was told there were only a few places on the plane left i couldn't find this hotel has it kept coming up under bj playa Blanca and i even asked them to check if it was a same hotel and was told not to worry and go and enjoy it so i read the reviews and went with a open mind it was as we had no honeymoon with me being ill and disabled in and out hospital all time and just wanted a cheap holiday just me and him no kids As we got to the airport from the plane being delayed the transfer driver got lost and went down one-way streets we took over an hour longer transfer we arrived at 2 am to be told we had no room and they couldn't find are booking with very little English we worked out they found us on room for the night and to go back at 10 am and they change us rooms we went back at 10 am to a different person told us to say there that night we reported we had no hot water no lights on balcony again to be told to come back at 10 am went back at 10.30 the next day and asked for a room change to be told we needed to check out now we had no holiday no transfers and no fight and our holiday had been cancelled panic sent in we had no money to pay we had no Wi-Fi to email so I had to ring family to ring the travel agency to find out what was going on they to us to give them time and they sort it out we explained we only had an hour or we be out and they had our passports I brought extra date to email them myself to and even rang they kept saying not to worry how can u not worried when hotel wanted us out in 20 mins they told us not to move we talked the hotel into giving us an extra day on the agreement I would pay if I had to we spent the full day to 6 pm on the phone panicking we could leave the ground or eat with worry we was only they 4 days so we still had no hot water or lights they agreed to change us rooms we had a smallest fan it was facing pool so the sun was shining all day and it was red hot no air con we had to pay for a fridge and fan at 5 euros a night they was no kitchen area no cups no fridge nothing with it being b and b u would expect a little fridge. so the new room was ready and hot still no lights working and the noise was unbearable people in the pool at 3 and 4 a.m. people partying on sun lounges at 5 am Breakfast was cold even if we were first in at 7.30 we went to the bar and brought a beer and cocktail was going back to our room past reception and the man shouting in front of about 6 people checking in asking if I ordered a beer and cocktail I said yes they tried to embarrass us saying we never paid and got dragged to bar area for them to speak in they own language and he replays ok This is a false advertisement at its best no Wi-Fi no crazy golf no karaoke no 24-hour recitation

This is the worst hotel I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. The hotel was disgustingly dirty, no air conditioning, staff were unhelpful and the food wasn't forest and not suitable for animals. The pool area was the worst, broken umbrellas, loungers and showers didn't work. Indoor pool and gym were out of commission

We read some pretty bad reviews before arriving so we were sceptical, but we don't think the horrible reviews are justified. Yes the hotel needs updating and the rooms don't have air con and just a fan which is still really hot, but the staff are lovely, the poolside was amazing. The bar has a great selection of drinks, the breakfast wasn't the best ill admit but we stuck to mainly toast, meats and cheeses. The rooms are nicely sized, the shower goes hot and cold (which I liked) the beds are firm but I found them just about right. The balcony is pretty big with 2 seats and a table, we had a beautiful view of the pool side and mountains in the background. The room was cleaned every day, fresh towels and bedding. The location of this hotel is FANTASTIC! within 1-2 minute walk you have multiple restaurants (I highly recommend Bibabo best food we found) Olympic is by far the best bar close by! Entertainment every night and the best staff. Beach a 1-2 minute walk, its stoned but if you walk 5 minutes away you'll find sand. Overall the holiday has been good, yes the hotel needs updating and different things for breakfast but I would definitely say go in with an open mind, don't always believe the reviews and make the holiday your own. Just awful.It was dirty, smelly, insects were crawling around.No air conditioner, no fridge. Unsafe with the type of ballon/building.I have to ask for my room to be cleaned and to provide us with the hand towels.This is the worst hotel that I ever stayed.Staff was rude and unprofessional, desk hardly been attended to.We had to wait for an hour for someone to come to reception to check us in.Umbrella's at the swimming pool are broken.Impossible to sleep as it was unbearable hot ,and for the price of one room of €900,you expect more.My husband slept outside by the swimming pool.People must know in what kind of hotel you are sending them to .In my children's room wardrobe was broken, under the bed was broken, dirty room. We booked three rooms for 7 nights and paid €2.166. And we didn't even have a basics like air conditioner or fridge.We been asked to pay additional cost of €15 per day for the air com and €25 for a fridge per day. Disgusting. Not that I would ever recommend this hotel, but you and people must be warned about it. Just to put the final insult to all the guests, it was falsely advertised that hotel has a free WI-Fl.Yes for 10min!!! Shocking.

Rooms are old and dated dirty fan no acc the pool is ok nothing to shout home about food I only had breakfast if you like toast then your fine I didn’t touch much else the rooms dirty and the rooms so hot it’s unbearable to sleep any one looking to book look somewhere else

disgusting room things were broken me and my daughter went and she didn’t feel safe at all we was on the 5th the elevator did not work the full hotel was leaking water shower was just cold water 😡😡😡😡could say a lot more about this place we are here at moment so stay away i beg anyone that comes here u can ask the reception anything or complain because she dose not speak a word of english stay clear aww and the food is disgusting i wouldn’t even give it to a dog when i get home it’s going all over social media and i’m complaining to love holidays aswel

TLDR: No, just no. I don’t usually write reviews and I most certainly rarely read the negative ones without a pinch of salt. I regret the latter in this case. It is important to mention that my standards are pretty low as a hotel room is nothing more than a base for me, but our adventure at Playa Blanca has made me reevaluate my beliefs. Upon our arrival we were greeted by a cloud of hot air gushing from the building and a lovely receptionist who tried her best to welcome us to the hotel despite the late hours. An interesting addition was a big notice listing all amenities one could add to the room for a price: mini fridge, fan, safe etc. We were sent off to our accommodation, where we discovered a room frozen in time and unchanged since probably the General Franco era. The only thing hinting at modernisation was a fan, which was on its last legs. After a few days we asked for a replacement and received one just as tired, bit this time also covered with a layer of dust. On our second attempt we managed to receive a brand new one with an orange price tag of €24 still attached to it. Taking a shower was as much as an adventure as fan hunting- you must brace yourself for either cold or alternating hot & cold water running as there is no option to set a steady temperature (other than the cold option of course). The shower head was clogged and we had water spraying in almost every direction. Your best bet at cooling off in this hotel besides the cold showers is sleeping under a wet towel, because counting on a functioning fan will leave you disappointed- we were not the only ones who encountered this problem, one man went so far as to bring pieces of his broken one to reception. As a result of the unimaginable heat we suffered in our room paired with a scoliosis inducing mattress we barely slept. Thus were one of the first people who made it down to breakfast, which is listed as starting at 7:15, in reality it opens much closer to 8:00. On our first day there were 3 baskets of fruit: one with 3 oranges, another with one banana and one with 2 kiwis, in all fairness they did add more fruit as we were leaving- do not take it personally if this happens to you, the staff will just put food out late. The hotel is run down and dirty, despite the cleaning staff’s best efforts. We suspect that the staff clocks out mid task as soon as they reach the end of their shift- we crafted this theory upon returning to our room to find no towels and a dirty rag left on the bathroom sink. We did manage to get some clean towels after a trip to reception. If you need any form of help from staff at reception, be prepared for either a very long wait or finding someone yourself as front of house is always empty. The positive of our stay was the fact that we ended up having much longer days and discovering a lot about the area as we did what we could to avoid spending time at the hotel.
